The Fledgling Wizard 19
Ah! There you are. I've been expecting you, young Wizard [Player].
Wondering who I am, eh?
I often wonder that myself! *cackle*
But never mind my name. All you need to know is that my all-seeing eye sees much. All, even.
For instance, I know you're planning to take on a Spooky by yourself. That's rather brave!
Those spirits tend to prowl around their favorite haunting spots at night. I wonder if it's your plan to ambush one tonight...
Aha! That IS your plan! My all-seeing eye sees it quite clearly.
And I'll tell you something else my all-seeing eye sees...
It sees that you are still one spirit short, my dearie!
What you're lacking is...a Spirit of Wind!
Spirits of Wind are rather free-spirited spirits, if you know what I mean. *cackle* Difficult to find!
But Spirits of Wind love to float in the breeze. Makes sense, hmm? So a stiff breeze is all you need! Try searching somewhere windy for a Spirit of Wind!
Very nice, dearie! Now you have a full complement of spirits.
You can call upon the four elements using the powers of these spirits.
Now, since you've been such a clever ←*
Remember this: carelessness must be avoided at all costs. Heed my warning, [Name 1]!
You must wonder how I know your name...and why I haven't told you mine! Wait, you KNOW my name? How in Reveria could you possibly know a thing like that? Unless...do you also have an all-seeing eye? If you do, why didn't MY all-seeing eye see it? Oh. I see the problem. Someone has seen fit to write my name above my head. How...helpful.
Ah, well. We haven't the time for such silliness. *cackle* I think Hazel needs your help!

You must be a Wizard, dearie. I can tell by the gleam in your eye!
I can also tell that it's a Spooky you're seeking to fight.
You still need one more spirit.
You should find a Wind Spirit first.
You catch on quick, young one—as I knew you would. I mean...er...never you mind, dearie.
You can call upon the four elements using the power of these spirits.
And I'll let you in on something else too...
Well then, do your best, [Name 1], dear.
Hmm. Have I forgotten to tell you my name? How silly of me...
But there's no time for that now. *cackle* I think Hazel needs your help!

Sorry, dearie, class is in session! *cackle*
Certainly is chilly tonight, eh? That's Al Maajik for you!
Ah! So you've finally decided to show your face. I've been expecting you for quite a while, child. I wonder if I'm not the slightest bit familiar... Don't you recognize me? Face not ringing any bells? I'll give you a hint: her name means "curse," and she's been known to swallow rats whole. Yes, Jinx! Isn't it obvious? She's my familiar. My link to Reveria...and you. I've been watching over you for some time now, through Jinx's eyes. Don't look so surprised! I am a Wizard, after all. And a pretty good one, from what they tell me. Enough of that. You've come a long way! Let me give you this token of my esteem.
Once you've reached the Adept rank, come see me anytime, dearie. Any pupil of Jinx's is a friend of mine. Give my best to Hazel and Nox too.
You've reached the Adept rank. Impressive, child! Very impressive... Perhaps I can persuade you one day to work here as a wizarding instructor! Tell me, child, have you ever faced down something truly evil? Not just a nasty beast. Something... ...bad. These evil spirits used to live in a more peaceful manner. At least they stayed far away from us. And we from them! But recently they've become a bit, shall we say, bolder. Frankly, they're mauling the stuffing out of folks. Sounds like something a Wizard should look into. Seek out the Gale Wraith in the Aridian Desert, if you haven't already, and challenge it to battle!
Listen well, child. I have some serious wisdom to impart to you! You don't defeat an evil spirit... You pacify it. All spirits are part of nature, and we should treat them with much respect.
Well, well, well. An Expert, are we? I believe I have a challenge for you, Expert. Perhaps you've heard of Deepsea Cave on Tortuga Archipelago... An evil water spirit known as the Sea Wraith lurks there. My emissaries bring me word that this beast has recently become rather...violent. I believe you have the power to calm the beast, if you haven't already, that is. How about it, child?
Go stir up some trouble for that Sea Wraith, child. You'll find it in Deepsea Cave, to the south of Tortuga Archipelago. Don't let me down!
Oooh! You're a Master now, I see. How...inspirational. *cackle!* And you've learned the Shooting Star trick, eh? That's an advanced move for Masters only! Just imagine all the power of the spirits concentrated into one wild burst... It takes a while to reach its peak, naturally. It's not a rapid-fire move, by any means!
I have no doubt you will use the power granted to you for the good of the people.
I have something to ask of you, now that you've reached the rank of Hero. It's about the lad. Colin is his name. He's become overly obsessed with his duty. I'm afraid it's my fault! But I believe you can help bring Colin back to reality. What do you say?
Without light, there can be no shadow. Shadow is simply another aspect of light. Remember that, my child. You will need this knowledge to restore peace to the world...
And so you've reached the rank of Legend! Allow me to give you this final bit of wisdom... Nature is neither good nor evil. Yet it must always be respected! Evil spirits must be held in the same regard as the good ones. Sounds strange, doesn't it? But consider this: an evil spirit can be reborn as a good one. That is how we bring peace to the land. All that we ask in return is to borrow a little bit of the spirits' power. A delicate balance, you see! And an important lesson to be learned. But you know this already, I can tell. You've truly embraced the Life of a Wizard!
Jinx has taught you well. Molded you into a fine Wizard! *cackle!* Jinx was once my familiar, but I sense she has moved on and chosen her own path... You've had quite the profound effect on her, child. Makes my heart proud to see you two succeed!
Remember my all-seeing eye? That means I see everything...including your hopes for the future. I believe in you, child. I know how important it is to have a good support system! And I shall champion your cause to the ends of Reveria! Here. Go on, take it. A little token of my esteem.
[Player], my child... The path you walk is a cold and lonely one. You'll see things that will make you want to tear your eyes out! Madness! Absurdity! Panic! But if you ever feel like you can't go on, just think of the kindly, wrinkled face you see before you. That'll scare you straight! *cackle!*
Creator rank, eh? You must have drawn from a vast reserve of inner strength to accomplish that! I imagine I was the source of most, if not all, of your inspiration. You're welcome, my child. No need to grovel before me or anything.
We Wizards are inherently connected to nature... When we laugh, it laughs with us! *cackle!* That's why I have so many lovely laugh lines. You could call them crow's-feet, I suppose... But either way, they're badges of honor. Laugh with me, child, and let your wrinkles grow!
