Not so fast, young'un. I... W-wait a second, now! I didn't tell you to leave! Here, let me share something with you. Did you know you can use additional materials to forge stronger items than normal? It's a new skill that's available to all Blacksmiths ranked Adept and higher. You can make items with all kinds of effects. The same items at the store don't even compare! Why am I telling you all this? The answer is simple: I. AM. LEGENDARY! That, and visitors are rare nowadays.

The road to Blacksmith mastery isn't some li'l dirt path, no! It's a long, winding road with many steps leading up a fiery mountain of forging and tempering! You want to get to the Adept rank? Then you've got a long road ahead full of my long-road analogies!

IronsmithIf you wanna reach the Adept rank, you'll have to work for it. There are no handouts in smithing. Think of it like this: Right now you're just a whelp. Not even that. You're a beginner whelp. Soon enough you'll move on up to regular whelp. After that, you'll be an elite whelp and then an ace whelp. You might even get to be a Master whelp! My point is, the more you practice, the better a whelp you'll become!

Then you'd best work on getting some Luck! Luck won't replace skill, so don't come cryin' to me if your luck runs out, ho, ho!

IronsmithAll right, whelp, listen up. Skill's important, everyone knows that, but a li'l Luck goes a long way when makin' high-quality items. Take your situation, for example. You managed to get to where you are relatively unscathed! Plus, you're lucky enough to receive tutelage from the Legendary Ironsmith! That's some real Luck! Do you understand what I'm telling you? I'm gonna assume your silence means yes.

IronsmithYou're an Expert now, eh? Been spending some quality time in the forge, I see! Time to show me what you're made of, whelp. I've got a little request I want you to handle. This is no ordinary request either, no, sir. This is a request for a certain well-known Paladin captain. There are a couple of things you need to know if you're going to complete this job without a hitch. The most important thing about smithin'? Technique. And you can't have technique without? Confidence! How about taking the Captain's Sword and Captain's Shield here and puttin' the finishin' touches on 'em? Do that, and you'll have the Legendary Ironsmith's official seal of approval as an Expert Blacksmith!

IronsmithYou've reached Hero rank? Well now! Looks like you rival even the great Ironsmith now! Lemme ask you: You familiar with Lightning Feathers? They're used as smithing materials. You can use 'em to forge a Spark Hammer, but I'm fresh out. You can only find these feathers on the Thunderbird that inhabits the Aridian Desert. Seeing as you ARE the great Ironsmith's pupil, I considered making you the hammer myself. But getting that feather would have been...difficult. Perhaps you could get it—if you haven't already! It shouldn't be a problem for a Hero like you to grab a feather and make that hammer, though. Get to it!

IronsmithDefeat the Thunderbird roaming the Aridian Desert to get yourself a Lightning Feather. Completing this task on your own will set you apart from all those ordinary Blacksmiths out there. This isn't child's play anymore. This is Legendary Ironsmith-caliber blacksmithing!
