MelusineAh! It's not often we get a visitor all the way out here! Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself! I haven't even used the fabulous greeting I've been working on! Welcome to Cacto Cove! ...OK, so I never was very inventive.

MelusineWelcome to Cacto Cove, the island where stars rise and fall and cacti stand tall! In truth, it's tough living out here. There's nothing here except for that big old cactus!

MelusineYou're a Mercenary, aren't you? Ha ha. I can tell that much just by looking at you! Grampy trained me well, you see. Have you met an old Plushling named Miguel? That's my Grampy!

MelusineGrampy taught me how to wield a blade. I'd love to test how strong you are sometime.

MelusineHey there! Now that you've reached Adept rank, you must have learned how to use the Earthquake technique, right? Ah, that sure takes me back! When I was little, my boat got shipwrecked on this island. That's when I met Grampy. At first, of course, I did nothing but weep. I just kept saying, "I want Mommy! I want Daddy!" I just wanted to go home. Grampy told me the island could be dangerous. He taught me how to use a blade.

MelusineGrampy always said I could leave the island once I reached Expert level. But I don't need to leave now. I know I'll never see my mother and father again... Grampy said he wanted to train young Mercenaries, so he left the island in my care and headed off.

MelusineWhispers on the sea breeze have told me you've become an Expert Mercenary! Well then, perhaps you're ready to take on a challenge. There's a fierce dinosaur in the Aridian Desert known as the Desert Tyrant. I was told I could only leave this island once I had become strong enough to defeat it. Grampy can be a bit absurd sometimes. This challenge was given to me, but I'm happy to hand it over to you. If you can't defeat it, you can always consider coming here and living a carefree Life!

MelusineOoh! Congratulations on becoming a Master! Um... I was meaning to ask you... Would you challenge me to a duel sometime? As a fellow Mercenary, I'm interested to see just how strong you really are. Oh, it's fine. It doesn't have to be right this minute. I'll be waiting for you!

MelusineI thought I was strong enough already, that I had no need to train anymore. But watching you and your skills develop has reminded me that the learning should go on! I want to keep on getting stronger, and I know I can do it with you around!

MelusineI told you Grampy left me in charge of looking after the island, right? Well, the reason someone needs to be here is that somebody has to watch over the Cave of Shadows. King Erik of Castele appointed Grampy to the job, and now I've inherited his position. The cave is full of dangerous monsters, so Reveria's leaders decided to seal them away within. It's up to me to make sure they stay that way.

MelusineSwarms of Shadow Monsters are sealed away within the Cave of Shadows. The Shadowsaurus is particularly dangerous. If you're planning on heading in there, just promise me you'll come back safely!

MelusineI hear you have become a Legend at last! Congratulations, [Player]! You've worked so hard to get this far. I know it's been a long and difficult road. But I guess you can take it easy now! Don't forget, I'm happy to join you on an adventure sometime. I'll make sure I don't get in your way too much!

MelusineI really want to thank my mother and father. But they aren't with us anymore. I'm sure that they, looking down from above, delivered you to this island.

MelusineI hear you've reached even greater heights now, [Player]. I have my sources, you know! Glad to hear you're still training hard. We can all sleep soundly knowing you're out there looking out for all of us! Oh, yes! You should take this. Hopefully it will be useful to you!

MelusineI'm using you as my inspiration, [Player]. I want to become just as powerful as you are! Seeing you continuing to train hard gives me the motivation I need to improve my own abilities. You've reassured me that being a Mercenary is the right thing to do!
