Central Grassland

Have an Origin Island afternoon! How did that sound? Oh, sorry—I'm just trying out a new greeting. What did you think of it? Splendid. I'm trying to get everyone on the island to use it. In any case, I hope you're enjoying your visit here. Have you already seen the sights? You know...Penguin Beach, the Ancient Tower, the Forest Shrine, and the Rocky Hill Shrine? There sure is a lot to see. I'll let you get on with it!

You'll find a sacred tree just beyond this area. But I must warn you... do NOT, under any circumstances, etch your name into the bark. Doing so would invite a terrible curse. Oh, all right. There's no curse. And I'm not authorized to punish you in any way. But I think you'll find that my tone will become MARGINALLY LESS POLITE upon your return. So just leave the tree alone, OK?
Beyond this point, you may encounter a particularly large fish. I must caution you... I have already seen the fish for myself. I know how big it is. So please don't return and tell me any stories about it. I have heard them all.
Good day, stranger. Head west from here if you're looking for the hot spring. Why not take a dip? You look like you could use a break, if you don't mind my saying so.
Good day, stranger. Head west from here if you're looking for the hot spring. It's open all hours of the day and night! You should take a dip and let off some steam.
Greetings! The Ancient Tower is just up ahead. It's so high, you can't even see the top!
Greetings! The Ancient Tower is just up ahead. Can't see it in the dark? Well, you'll just have to take my word for it!
Good day. Just east of here, you'll find the Soldier Garrison. There isn't much in the way of hospitality...but there are countless monsters. Do come visit!

If you can't find your way here on the island, just ask a friendly Ancient Soldier! Er...not me, though. I'm busy at the moment. But I'm sure one of the others will be happy to help you.
There's a fearsome monster that stalks this island at night, you know. Gets me almost every night. I'm speaking, of course, of the Sleepybye Monster. What? A grown soldier can't be afraid of the Sleepybye Monster?
Hello, stranger. Follow this grassy slope down to find a quaint little beach. Or take the sandy slope if you're looking for a slightly larger beach. The choice is yours! What freedom! I do hope you like beaches...

Sorry. I cannot permit strangers to pass.
Sorry. I cannot permit strangers to pass.
See that huge tower up ahead? That's the Ancient Tower. The very symbol of Origin Island! Not many people are allowed in there. It's strictly off limits to the public!

Penguin Beach

Standing guard by the beach is tough work. There are so many monsters around here! I suppose it has its benefits, though. Like fresh fish for dinner! Mmm.
I think I'd like to become an Angler one day. No more monsters...just peaceful fishing. Ahhh.
Hello there! This here's the beach. Er...obviously. Anyway, it's a great spot for fishing and relaxing. If you don't mind the monsters, of course. Uh, I'm not exactly doing a great job selling the place, am I? Well...let's see. The Furlin live nearby! They're kinda neat, and not dangerous in any way!
Cheerio, friend. Have you visited Furlin's Grotto yet? Ah...I wish I were there right now. Nothing like cozying up to a toasty Furlin on a cold night. Whatever you do, don't use them as pillows, however. They do NOT like that.

Forest Shrine

Do not go any farther! This is as far as you can safely go. Please go back if Life is dear to you!
It's dangerous to go up there! There is a difference between courage and recklessness!

Rocky Hill Shrine

I may be a soldier, but I'm not JUST a soldier, my friend. I cook, I clean, I organize equipment. And I'm no slouch on the dance floor, either.
As an Ancient Soldier, I know it's possible to be moved to a different post. I'm just hoping I don't have to work near the sea. I can't stand seafood!
Don't go telling everyone...but I saw Lord Leo playing with a toy boat in the hot spring. Yes, I suppose you're right. That DOES sound like a lot of fun...
Don't go telling everyone...but I saw Lady Grace eating ice cream IN the hot spring. Yes, yes, that does sound like it would be kind of amazing...
This is our garrison. Quite the view we have from here, don't you think?
Welcome to our garrison! Hope you don't mind monsters! Oh ho ho! Seriously though, watch out for the monsters.

Origin Island: Chapter One

*zzz...* *nom nom nom* *zzz...* Don't mind if I do... *zzz...* Delicious pie... *nom nom*
Yes, whipped cream, please!
Who are you? You're not the new guard.
*GASP!*
*GASP!* I say!
Nobody's supposed to use the Ancient Door! The Ancient Door is specifically off limits!
L-L-Leo! What do I do? Help!
Strange faces! Identify faces!
The Shrine Maiden is praying to the gods. How dare you interfere with the ceremony, strange face!
Right over here, Leo, sir!
I saw
Thank you, Sir Leo, sir!
That's the talking butterfly! And she was with...
...Th-th-th-there
B-b-b-but, L-Leo! Sir! That's
I'd recognize that face anywhere!
Lady Grace!
They may be here to scope out our defenses so they can report back to their evil, tentacled overlords!
Or perhaps they were simply curious about the Ancient...you-know-what.
Lady Grace? Are-are you OK?
Is she cold or somethin'?
Yes, sir! Back to the...stronghold we go, sir!
I'm sorry, but I'm under strict orders from Lord Leo not to let you pass.
Sorry, but...strangers may go no farther.
The Ancient Tower, symbol of our great island, lies ahead. Only a select few are permitted to enter it.

Origin Island: Chapter Two

I c-c-c-can't feel my legs...
I can. They're shaking so hard the ground is moving!
AAAHHHH!
WHO GOES THERE?! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!
L-Lady Grace went ahead to the tower...alone.
W-we would surely love to rescue Lady Grace, but...
if the legends are true, the Ancient Tower must now be crawling with ferocious monsters!
Honestly...we're all cowards.
Just up ahead, we spotted several of those stone giants prowling about...
Um...so they were right behind us, eh?
I'm trying to tell my body to move...but it doesn't seem to be listening!
You coward! I'm fearlessly...standing here and... moving my eyes!
Lord Leo!
What are you going to do? Flap away the monsters?
Sorry, but what can you do? You're just a butterfly.
W-w-w-wait... That butterfly just...
Now I'm terrified of butterflies!
Erm, Lord Leo...may I speak?
I believe this is not the first time I've seen this butterfly-girl's face, Sir Leo.
The memory is not forthcoming, sir.
Perhaps a solid bop on the head might dislodge it.
Oh, I've been waiting for this!
Did you do it?
What kind of attack was that? I barely felt anything!
Now what's going to happen if you come across the ancient Goddess Statue in battle?!
That's it! The Goddess Statue! That girl looks exactly like the Goddess!
Y-yes, milord!
Lady Grace prayed fervently every day...so, why? Oh, why has she met such a fate?
The strange aura that has overtaken the island makes me so anxious...and terrified.
I'm not the one who left the island.
