Ancient Tower - Top Floor

Ah, young [Player]. Good to see you again. Is there something I can do for you? [Choice: $$To the entrance! / Nothing]

Ah, young [Player]. Good to see you again. Is there something I can do for you? [Choice: Add to party / $$To the entrance! / Nothing]

Oh, how splendid. Just give me a moment to prepare, if you don't mind.

And...I'm ready. Sorry to keep you waiting. Now, where shall we go?

Very well. You want to return to the Trial Chamber, right? [Choice: Yes / Actually...no]

All right, then! If you just close your eyes, we'll be on our way.

Oh, all right then. Just call me if you need anything else.

Thank you for taking the time to come and see me. You're such a kind soul, [Player].

Tale of Lunares: Chapter Six

I'm sorry, dear.

Although this crisis has been averted...

I cannot return just yet. This world needs more time...

more time to recover from the destructive influence of the Doomstones that have already fallen.

I must remain here until it is fully restored.

You know my love for this place, Divinus.

Reveria looks far more beautiful when viewed from here.

I would like our daughters to see it like this.

I want to protect this land so that they may experience its beauty.

I shall stay here and guide the people of Reveria.

Their lives are so short and often marred by strife, by fighting...and by sadness.

But I will teach them another way of Life.

One where people can work together to help make each other's wishes and dreams come true.

I will show them how enjoyable Life can be.

And from there, Reveria's inner beauty will be visible throughout all the kingdoms...

Not just from great heights such as these...

but even where the grass grows, the sand blows, and the rivers flow.

My stubborn little Yuelia, and my crying baby Noelia, I will make this a world you will love.

A world in which you, and the people of Reveria, can fulfill all of your deepest and dearest wishes.

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

Oh, you girls have made me so proud...

Who else would it be? You did call upon me, did you not?

Ha ha. Yes, well...the power of wishes is stronger at some times than at other times.

You could ask yourselves, my dears—what is a dream but a manifestation of our desires?

By that definition, is my appearing before you not a splendid dream of your own doing?

Or perhaps it is my own desire. And my own dream to gaze upon the two of you again.

Yuelia, my child...ask yourself what makes up the "power of wishes" you seek so dearly?

Or, put another way, what do you think makes people truly happy?

Collecting Stars? Amassing Dosh? Gathering Bliss?

Is it as simple as accumulating the knowledge of a hard day's work in one's Life? Or is it more?

Perhaps meeting someone special and finding you care about that person...more than yourself?

There are many ways to lead a fulfilling Life. So how do people express their happiness in Life?

Ha ha. Yes, I wouldn't have used those words, but... they smile. They also cry.

And if you're able to gather the power behind the tears, behind the smiles, and combine them...

Well...again, not quite how I would put it. But yes, I guess there is a crafting of happiness at work here.

OK, well, first of all, let's stop referring to it as a "stew." That would just help me in explaining this.

Think about the destruction of Reveria. Quite a sad thing that would create many tears, wouldn't it?

And should that same planet be saved, there is happiness everywhere...and still there are tears!

Do you see, Noelia? It looks like there might be a small drop of happiness in your eyes right now.

And therein lies the true nature of tears, my darling.

Do you understand what I'm saying?

Yuelia, you are adorable. Let me ask this: Did both of you shed tears of any kind on Reveria?

I'm sure. And you both laughed a lot while you were on Reveria too, did you not?

Some of my best friends are "weirdos."

Did either of you laugh so much you cried?

When that happens, that is how you know the power of true joy.

And that is when you experience the secret power that can save the world.

The power of one's wishes can be felt through the tears of joy as well as the tears of sadness.

While you are experiencing such tears, you can know you are in the presence of great wishes.

Good-bye, my dears. Stew or soup...however you need to look at it is fine.

I shall be with you always, in everything you do.

And I think we will see one another again in another dream...

Flutter 047 Goddess's Ancient Tower

Did I hear my name?

Should I come back later?

I'm still exploring this. But I do know I can only maintain my form for a certain period of time.

But perhaps one day I shall be able to remain like this indefinitely.

My ability to form here is due in large part to Grace's devotion as a Shrine Maiden.

Thank you for all your work, my dear. Your training must have been most challenging.

Speaking of training, I have something to share with you, [Player].

You've heard the tale of many brave warriors who failed while fighting inside this tower? Well...it's true.

No, that's not what I mean.

This tower has always been a place where warriors conduct their training.

Do you remember the three doors in this tower's Trial Chamber?

Through those doors lie three separate trials. Each one eventually leads to the very top of this tower.

They are known as the Trial of Bunnies, the Trial of Cubs, and the Trial of Froggies.

How dare you question my knowledge, Grace!

Tee hee! I'm sorry—I'm just kidding. I really shouldn't do that. Those were the names my husband wanted.

Regardless of what they're called, each path is filled with formidable monsters.

There were some brave warriors who were never able to reach the top.

Well...when I say that they were never able to, I mean they just had to start the whole thing over again.

As long as you're all here, why not try your hand at one of the trials, [Player]?

First of all, I'll open up the door to the easiest trial, the Trial of Time. But by "easiest" I really mean... least difficult. These trials are not for the weak. It behooves one to bring one's friends.

If your party is strong enough to succeed, you may be able to open the doors to the other trials. So do your best to put together a strong group of your friends before taking on the trials.

Alas, it seems my time here is running out.

I shall have a reward waiting for you at the end of the Trial of Light.

Please take this in case you ever need a slice of encouragement. These were Yuelia's favorite.

Of course I did! How could a mother forget one of her daughter's favorite things?

May fortune smile upon you all... And, you know, other things you would expect a goddess to say.

Oh, sorry! I forgot to mention something! If you call me from the Goddess Statue atop the tower, it will return you to the Trial Chamber. You don't have to worry about making your way back down, so give it your all on the way up!

Origin Island: Chapter Two

Did you call upon me, child?

Hello, my dear daughter.

It's me, darling. Your mother.

Oh my...it has been quite some time since I've been inside a body this young. It's wonderful!

Oh, every now and then the circumstances present themselves that allow me to borrow a body for a bit.

It takes the honesty of a true heart opening itself...

That is much more rare than one would like to think in this day and age.

Fret not, dear Yuelia.

Grace is here. And she is warm and safe.

I have more than one way of appearing before you, child.

All I need is a vessel for a mystical power. Much like a Crystal of Wishes...

A Shrine Maiden with an open heart does nicely for that, you know.

I used to do this to your father sometimes when we'd get into arguments.

And why not?! Sometimes his hubris would get out of hand. I'd wait for him to fall asleep...

Oh, he hated it so much!

One time I left his body on a flying carpet near the outskirts of Al Maajik. He was mad for decades...

This body is very powerful. I can sense how hard Grace has worked in her Shrine Maiden training.

I can tell. For it is by her power that I am able to be here in the first place.

Now, when I mentioned I have other ways of appearing before you...

Hmm... No, now is not the time for that.

Listen to me, Yuelia. The true cause of what is happening right now is...

It's all because of what happened between...

Hmm... No, actually, now is not the right time for that, either...

For now, I shall attempt to restore Dogu back to his usual self. How about that?

I think I may be able to reduce his power slightly...to a more manageable level.

And we can discuss the other stuff later.

No... Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I am able to completely restore him.

It appears he is still being somewhat influenced by the power of autosuggestion.

Now, Yuelia. Snark does not become a lady. I was saying that Dogu is being hypnotized in a way...

I'm afraid it's not that simple. The grip on Dogu is quite strong, as it's a reflection of his own strength.

Perhaps the two of you can come up with a solution.

Be as gentle as you can.

My dears, time is of the essence. So...hurry up.

Oh my, what a majestic-looking youth. And what is your name?

Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Well, this was fun while it lasted.

Time to give Grace her body back.

How do you feel, my dear? I hope I didn't overstay my welcome.

You've done very well, my dear Grace.

Yes, my dear, it all is quite like a dream! Just imagine we're having a lovely dream chat.

I do, my dear. Yuelia and [Player] share your faith. With it, they even saved the world.

Noelia, dear! It's OK. Tears were meant to flow. Let them out, my child.

These are my two lovely daughters, Sir Leo. I thank you for showing them the respect they deserve.

It's all thanks to Grace. I am glad to see you looking so well, Noelia.

You may do what you need to do to make yourself feel content, my darling.

Noelia, why are you so angry? What are you getting at here?

I'm sorry, Yuelia.

I'm afraid it's the truth. I couldn't be honest before... I was too embarrassed.

Dearest? You opened up this can of worms. I think maybe I'll just let you explain.

I think it would be best hearing it from the one who brought it up in the first place, don't you?

Nobody is asking for a drawing. Your subjects, including your daughters, are simply asking for a—

I bawled my eyes out, clasping Dogu close to me.

Unfortunately, at the time, I was very...distressed. All I was thinking was...

"I don't ever want to see him again! I don't want to see ANYONE ever again!"

I was young. I was spiteful. All I wanted was revenge.

I think it has already been decided, Dogu.

I'm sure you know that your creator cares for you very much.

After the disturbance, the islanders were ready to think Dogu was some sort of demon.

So to protect you from their wrath, your creator made up a cover story...or a cover legend.

A fine thing she didn't inherit your artistic skills.

Yes, well, so is octopus tongue. That doesn't mean it's good.

Yes, that's true.

It is indeed a secret I have held on to for many years. I used to be a human.

Oh, what's the big deal, dearest? We've come this far. We might as well tell them everything.

Did you know your father proposed to me right here in this very spot?

It was while performing my duties as a Shrine Maiden.

Yep. And when he proposed to me, well...let's just say I was in a real existential pickle.

And not a tasty one.

I mean, of course I was flattered, but to marry a god meant...a bit of a Lifestyle change.

To be the wife of a god, you pretty much have to be a goddess.

I didn't know what to do. I wrestled with the decision all alone...all day and every night.

And one night, just before the break of dawn, I saw a shooting star streak across the sky...and I knew.

I would be with the one I loved and use the power he granted me for the good of the world.

Can I get back to my story?

I had just one condition for accepting his proposal.

Each year, I would get to be human again for one day. One special day to spend with him as a human.

And then he went and FORGOT about that day!

My dear husband is using Dogu as a puppet!

Yes, dear, you can practice your routine another time. I already forgave you, remember?

He flew to my side to grovel at my feet.

By that time, I'd already calmed down and was feeling quite sheepish. So I told him I wasn't angry.

But, Dogu, I think we should respect your wish. Tell us what you would like.

Very well, Dogu.

You know what my husband said to me while he was sealing Dogu's memories the last time?

*whisper whisper whisper* *Love forever.* *whisper*

Grace, it looks like you've got your Dogu back. Just as good as new.

The mushy line is only really a phrase...just words. Perhaps Dogu actually did the sealing himself.

You do seem to leave that behind quite a bit after personal conversations.

Yes, dear. It really makes my heart swell to see that you girls have grown up into such wonderful people.

Oh. You don't remember?

I'm sorry—I thought you already knew I brought you to this island many times when you were young.

Seeing you two run around here was wonderful. You were so cute and so filled with joy...

Well, on that note, I think it's time for me to go.

Don't worry, Noelia, dear...

As I said earlier, I have many ways of appearing before you in this world.

Those with Shrine Maiden powers can communicate with each other through dreams. Remember that.

Noelia, you've been meeting me in your dreams too. I guess the chocolate was a bigger deal...

Hee hee. Yes, my dear. Well, I'm glad to help in any way I can.

Speaking of sleep, this whole multidimensional- travel thing is quite exhausting.

I shall take my leave now. I wish you all many happy days of peace here on Origin Island.

Can you hear me...?

Thank you for all you've done, [Player]. Thanks to your efforts, our beautiful land is now at peace. I know my little girl and all the people of the land have a special place for you in their hearts. Please continue to enjoy Life on Reveria...and keep an eye on my girls, won't you?

Trial of Light - Top Floor

[Player]! You have conquered the Trial of Light! This is a momentous occasion. I am honor bound to offer you a special reward. The thing is—oh, this is shameful to admit—I have not prepared the reward. See, I knew you were skilled...but it appears I have still underestimated you. Just give me a moment. Let me think. You deserve something precious...something DIVINE... How's this?

Oh ho ho! Perhaps referring to myself as "divine" and "precious" was a bit much. But on the other hand, I AM divine! In any case, I can finally walk the world freely again. And I can't think of a better companion than you. If you'll have me, of course. So if you ever want to have me accompany you on an adventure, simply visit the Goddess Statue. I'll be waiting. I hope you do drop by sometime.
