Starlight Garden

Noelia was awaiting your visit. She brought those Plushie creatures back from Reveria. The Plushlings appear to be highly adaptable and very resourceful. One of them has even opened a shop here. The other has something to show you over by that tree.

You haven't yet reached the highest [Name 1] rank. It is a bit too early to trouble you with challenges designed for a rank higher than Legend. Come back when you've reached the limits of your Life.

I see you have become a Legendary [Name 1]. Reverians consider that to be the highest rank... but you have potential for much more. Would you like to try for...a Creator rank? [Choice: Yes / No]

If anyone can reach that rank, you certainly can. Many difficult challenges await you, [Player]! Achieve them, and become a Creator [Name 1]!

Ho ho, I'm certain your time as a Demi-Creator will be divinely enjoyable. Report to me once you've completed the challenges I gave you.

No harm in that. Better to postpone it if you don't feel ready. See me again when the time is right.

Welcome back, [Player]. [Choice: Report / Chat / Leave]

I don't believe you have anything to report. Take your time, and return when you've completed a new challenge or two.

Well, well. Let's see how you have done, young [Name 1].

Excellent. Keep it up.

Good heavens! Here is the first Reverian to get to the highest rank of them all! You have become a Creator [Name 1]. Congratulations!

Noelia has taken after Yuelia more than she'll admit. Dare I say...she may even be happy here!

Have you been enjoying your Life as a Creator [Name 1]?

Welcome back, [Player]. What brings— Oh! Excuse me. I failed to notice you had company. Playing with friends must be much fun. We can talk later after your friend goes home. Have a good time!

You have indeed managed to attain the Creator rank for every single Life!

I have never met anyone with as much zeal as you! With so much patience!

How should I express my appreciation of all your efforts?

What reward would be appropriate for such a momentous occasion?

You've seen it all by now... I am at a loss as to what to reward you with. Hmm... More text, perhaps...?

Eureka! I know! This should be to your liking...

This concludes my brief career as your Master. I wish it had been longer... *sigh*

I have greatly enjoyed it.

Thank you for bringing a bit of variety into my frankly monotonous Life, [Player].

It is good to see you, [Player]. I'm afraid there is nothing more I can do for you now. But since you're here... maybe you could do some shopping at my new business partner's...*cough*...that Plushling's shop.

Tale of Lunares: Chapter Six

I know this is difficult, Yuelia. Trust me, my child, this is not easy for me either.

You have to understand the situation is not in our hands anymore, my child.

Yes, well...and therein lies Reveria's only hope, for only the power of wishes can save it now.

The strongest hopes and desires—the things that people want to do or want to make happen...

There is a power that emerges from the choices people make about the way they want to live.

Reveria is created and shaped by the wishes of its people. Evidence of their choices is everywhere.

And so it goes that the world can be saved only through the same power of wishes and sheer will.

Other than what your mother had to do to save Reveria in her time, I see no other option.

Now, Yuelia, don't be rash. Think about this...

Well, no, probably not. But I'm afraid such a task may not be as easy as it would initially seem.

I knew you would see it my way. Sometimes we need to give up on what we want in order to—

W-wait! Where are you going?

Oh, gods be flustered... You too, Noelia? *sigh*

You both have so much of your mother in you. Once you set your mind to something, you never give up.

Yuelia, go to Reveria and do what you will. Noelia, go with your sister, and...try to be nice.

You're welcome. Just let me make a small alteration before you go...

I have turned you into butterflies.

There is an old superstition in Reveria that butterflies bring happiness.

Sure. Yes...I think so.

It will also help prevent any wasteful use of your powers while you're away.

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say that out loud? I was just mumbling. Nothing you need to be concerned about.

I hope it goes without saying, but you girls must not reveal your true selves while in Reveria.

The power of a wish is linked to its...organic nature. Any type of fake or forced wish has no power.

You must not exert any undue pressure on an individual to reveal his or her true wish. Such an event is very likely to happen if you were walking around as the daughter of the Life Goddess.

Your time in Reveria must also be limited.

To answer your first question—your time in Reveria must also be limited.

To answer your second question—limiting your time in Reveria is for your safety.

That world is in grave danger, and its collapse could come any day now.

Therefore, you must return when I call for you.

I shall leave a mark upon the face of Lunares when the danger is imminent.

When you see this mark, I shall expect you to return home immediately.

You must promise me you will look out for a sign upon Lunares every night without fail.

These are my conditions for allowing you to go.

And please, girls, do be very careful down there. It's not like it is here. Things are...different in Reveria.

I shall be watching over both of you...unless I'm busy with other things. Got a lot going on right now...

Noelia...try to behave yourself.

*sigh* Well...we'll see how this turns out. I could use a nap right now.

CAN YOU HEAR ME? IS THIS THING ON?

*ahem* OK. Sorry.

As Noelia realized, your mother, Celestia, did indeed live there on Terra Nimbus at one time.

Yes, Noelia. Just calm down. You get a gold star for that. And yes, that Floatstone is from her airship.

I was hoping to wait until you two were all grown up to tell you, but I guess I have no choice now...

See, long ago, Reveria was in a state just as bad... well, no, even worse than it is now.

Your mother descended onto Reveria and offered guidance to its people and all its creatures.

Unfortunately, Reveria's leaders could not find a way to stop bickering among one another...

And the Doomstones continued to rain down upon all the kingdoms of Reveria.

Eventually, a Doomstone the size of an island fell from the sky.

It cast a shadow upon Reveria that could be seen throughout the entire world.

Yes. That Doomstone is now Terra Nimbus.

In order to prevent that Doomstone from crashing right into Reveria...

your mother took the Floatstone from her airship and quickly secured it to the falling Doomstone.

That's how Terra Nimbus was created. I can still see her, almost as if it were yesterday...

Ah, Celestia...you are truly the most beautiful and resourceful being I have ever laid my eyes upon.

You have done an amazing thing here today.

And you know how time flows much more quickly in Reveria. You will not remain unaffected.

*sigh* I was afraid you were going to say that.

Your mother never once had a selfish thought in her Life. She only thought of the two of you.

She saved Reveria so that you both could see the world she so loved.

*AHEM* I'm sorry to interrupt this very moving scene, but your time is up, my darlings.

I'm sorry, but...we had a deal, remember?

The power binding Lunares and Reveria is wearing very thin. Didn't you see my sign?

Soon you will not be able to return at all.

The next eclipse will be your absolute last chance to return. Do you understand that?

I'm serious—that's it.

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

Divine ruler, eh? Hmm... Well. OK. You can think of me like that. Just call me Divinus.

Goddess... Is that a term for a beautiful, kind, sweet, and generous woman?

Robin, is it? Just calm down. Have some water.

And this is [Player], I presume.

It seems you've been a big help to my daughters.

Oh, just seeing that ship really takes me back... Your mother really enjoyed that ship.

I see, I see... So then, Noelia, you found what you were looking for all along, eh?

Ha ha ha! I remember that engine! A sassy one.

At the risk of sounding like I'm defending the engine, though, the airship is missing a vital piece.

Celestia left behind part of the ship when she first set off for Reveria.

I bet you had a spot of trouble making it up here without a fully equipped airship, eh?

Oh? What is that?

I couldn't be more pleased or more proud of you daughters of mine. All together, then?

Take the wishes you've gathered...

Well...I didn't see that coming. You girls OK?

Well, that's good news.

Boy, this sure takes me back! I haven't seen a true Wish Crystal since my early older years.

Hers looked a little bit different...but your mother made one just like this.

Hm. Although it doesn't look like...

Well...I hate to say this, sweetie, but it doesn't look like there's enough power in this crystal.

Not enough to purify Reveria, anyway. There simply aren't enough wishes.

I'm sorry. That's just how the world crumbles.

Is that so? What is it?

It would be a noble sacrifice for anyone to make. For her, though, I think you're right.

It is with sadness that I accepted her decision. However, I know she will be happy there.

What about you? While your sister has committed to living there, are you OK with never going back?

Oh? You mean, you'd want to do that, eh?

So that Robin boy...? He seems to—

Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't implying anything by that...

It was decent of him to apologize for his outburst.

For calling me an old fraud, I mean...

Even if he did have a point.

His faith in his divine ruler was restored the instant I saved Reveria. Interesting, that...

Well, he was mistaken about my own actions. I didn't do anything to save Reveria.

Truth be told, I'd quite given up on it totally!

Well, let's just put it this way—if I were indeed some divine ruler of Reveria...I would pray for all of us.

Har har har... Well, at any rate. All is saved.

I wonder how all of this will change the folklore down there on Reveria.

I am the father of two adorable daughters and the slightly oversized husband of a much-loved wife.

Well, what harm could it do?

Everyone has their own beliefs. If it makes them happy, let people have faith in what they like.

Besides, the truth is pretty boring, don't you think? Har har har!

I mean, what fun is there in believing in some old guy with a beard named Todd Divinus?

Ugh! But I just gave that to her!

That engine is never gonna make it without... *sigh* Well, you know what? Who knows?

I've been surprised quite a bit already today. And your mother flew off without it last time, as well...

You inherited your mother's stubborn nature, Noelia.

And Yuelia inherited all of her optimism...and a little bit of her forgetfulness too.

Well, that strapping young pip-squeak Robin is at the helm, right?

If he made it up here, I'm sure they'll be fine. Maybe he can make the ship run on the power of wishes.

I'm sure they'll be fine. My little Yuelia... I can see her now, making a new Life for herself in a far-off world.

Hmm. I mean, it only needs a bit more.

Flutter 046 The Sky's the Limit

Please allow me some rest, [Player]. This whole thing has been rather draining on me.

Yuelia...can you please turn back into my daughter while you're here? Just humor me.

Ha ha. Welcome, Grace. I hope my size isn't a distraction. I could turn into a butterfly if you'd like.

Well, uh, it has been a pleasure meeting you, Grace. I would like to give you a souvenir for coming here!

I'm sure this will make you look like a true hipster back on Origin Island!

Don't worry—I've got one for you too, [Player].

Oh, I'm sorry—which prophecy was that?

Oh, I almost forgot! I have something else for you...

Yes, well, like I said, it was lovely meeting you, and I hope we can see each other again someday.

Oh, come now, Yuelia. Don't get upset.

I'm sorry, Yuelia. You're right. Please forgive me. But you must know there is a reason for all of this.

I'm sorry, Yuelia. OK, I'll do my best to help you. What is it that you want to know?

Is he sick? Maybe it's the altitude.

Ah...yes, well...don't be too harsh on me.

Origin Island: Chapter One

I see that, Yuelia.

And Noelia too. Earlier than expected. Is it Father's Day on Reveria?

Uh-oh. What is it? What do you want?

Oh, it's nothing! Just some heartburn, you know...

Er, well, yes, I had a few of those Red Dwarf Peppers that were in the garden.

I'd stay away from those unless you want to throw your intestines into chaos. They were good, but—

Well, isn't that adorable. My dears, I'm sorry, but I've never heard of this Orange'n Island.

Orangutan Island.

How'd you get ahold of Dogu?!

Er, uh...I mean, do pandas even like bamboo?

*I tell them, I tell them not. I tell them, I tell them not, I tell them...* *sigh*

Listen, Daughters... There are many mysteries in Life. Is there a god? Do we have a true, single destiny? Where do birds go at night?

I'm doing no such thing! You know I can't dance!

Who? Well, that's hard to say. I mean, who really named you?

That's an easy one, I guess. That was me and your mother, dear Celestia.

*sigh* Very well. You girls are young ladies now. I suppose it's only right that you hear the truth.

The Origin Island you're so curious about is, indeed, the birthplace of the Furlin.

This island is where Reveria's civilization originated.

Furlin may look clumsy, but they're good with their hands. Long ago, they had no outlet for this talent.

Looking down on them, I could see how deeply they wanted to create something of their own.

So I headed down to Origin Island and taught them a few skills they could put to use.

Strangely enough, though...they never really got the hang of drawing.

My drawings have their own flair!

At any rate, when the humans there saw this, they all wanted to learn skills as well.

So I taught them to harness the power of the spirits and how to protect themselves from peril.

Sure. Why not? I mean, it was kind of a big deal with this whole godlike being coming down to teach.

Let's focus on the real matter at hand here. How did this Dogu get off the island?

Before I answer that, Yuelia, uh...it sounds like this little Dogu was saying something...

Well...then...there you go.

Why would you do that?

Oh, don't be silly now, girls! How could you have seen that thing anywhere before?

Look, if you want to know the really real true truth, I handed over that island to your mother.

I can't really say what happened to it after that.

Oh, hang on, hang on. I just remembered something.

I made a secret way to travel between this world and that of the island. I put together a door.

Just a regular door. Nothing fancy.

So I went with a door! What's the big deal? Why complicate things? It just takes you from A to B!

I would love to, except that I...uh, I lost it.

Look, I spring clean once every eon or so, OK? I'm not very good at it, and I must've...thrown it out.

Shame. It was a nice old door. Had a spiffy-looking star on the top and everything.

Well, I don't know how that door ended up in some random storage room.

But since you both seem to have your heart set on this whole thing...

I think if you two work together, you may be able to get that door open...

and take this little guy back to where he came from.

Just...cool your jets for one second, Yuelia. You too, Dogu.

Well...maybe. I wanted to warn you.

Origin Island is an ancient place that has been left untended for centuries.

I just don't know what it may have turned into by now. It could be littered with ferocious monsters.

Or it could be a place of eternal peace, I guess.

I'm going to lean toward the whole littered-with- ferocious-monsters possibility, though.

It's not going to be like Reveria, I can guarantee you that. The danger may make your blood curdle.

I just want to make sure you're all prepared for the worst-case scenario.

Step forward, [Player].

I think it would be prudent to enhance your abilities before undertaking this quest into the unknown.

Just a little closer. I'm not going to bite you.

Now listen closely. This is important stuff.

You are now capable of achieving a higher Life rank.

A rank that is beyond the heights of Legend.

Gladstone knows about this too?

I'm going to have to talk to everyone who makes Legend. We need a confidentiality clause in there!

I'll give you three guesses. The first two don't count.

There is a rank that only I can bestow! It is the rank of Creator!

Of course I'm sure! There's a license for it and everything, Yuelia!

Too late. Regardless, once one achieves the rank of Legend...

one may find oneself wanting to rise even further among the ranks.

When that time arrives, come and talk to me. Got it?

I'll even make it a bit easier for you to come here. I know convenience is a big deal for you kids.

*Tell her the rest, don't tell her the rest, tell her the rest, don't tell her the rest... Whew!*

Oh. HA! Don't mind me, sweetie. Just...you know, keeping up good grooming habits. Have a nice trip!

Origin Island: Chapter Two

*sigh* I knew I should've kept my godly mouth shut.

OK. I'll tell you. But you have to promise you won't get mad at me.

This whole thing came from a domestic spat. A fight between husband and wife.

No, no, no. It would sound better coming from you. You're a goddess, after all.

You know I'm no good with words! If you wanted a drawing, that would be one thing, but this...?

I originally made Dogu as a gift for your mother. A sort of talisman for hearing the islanders' wishes. Dogu spoke to the Shrine Maiden, and I would grant the wishes she gathered through him.

I'm better at remembering now! It was a mistake, OK?

You could say that. See, when Celestia soaked Dogu in her tears, well...

Old legends have a tendency to become slightly exaggerated over the years... No warriors were ever in any real danger. Although many climbed the tower to free Celestia... none of them were killed. A few sprained their ankles perhaps, but nothing more.

I believe Celestia's influence is necessary in order to grant Dogu the power of speech. See, after the situation on Origin Island cooled down, I decided to seal up Dogu's memories. He never thought again about Celestia or her wishes. But it looks like I didn't seal them very well. None of this has to do with Grace leaving the island. Dogu is...well, he's reliving the past.

I sent a message to the islanders claiming the chaos was a direct result of my leaving the island.

Look, I didn't mean for my little white lie to turn into some sort of prophetic tale to scare the kiddies. I never even said the words: "Whosoever leaves Origin Island shall invoke the Ancient Disaster." At least, I don't think I did...

We were young and foolish. Please find it in your hearts to forgive us.

I believe he may have mistaken you for your mother, my dear child.

You certainly bear a striking resemblance to her. I hardly see any of myself in you, actually.

Philistine! My art is an acquired taste!

Celestia, my dear, maybe we should just call it a day.

*sniff* ...You never told me that story.

Now, now, Noelia. I was plenty shocked. Just because I didn't jump up in the air and shout...

I'm going to need to speak with my lawyer.

Oh yes, yes. See, Divinus didn't forget about the date. He was actually off in Reveria at the time. He was picking flowers for his love but got lost! And you know how gods are about asking for directions!

Blast! I knew I shouldn't have tried to sneak in some of my new material...

Oh, that's right... Ha ha ha! What am I so worried about, then?

I think grovel might be too strong a word...

Oh, shush. And yes, I do.

OK! That's it! Dogu is sealed, and I'm gone!

Dogu has a soul! I wouldn't just make him live out his Life as some sort of puppet!

I wasn't eavesdropping! I had to come back because I left my...ethereal vortex thingie here... I got it now.

I admit I was shocked when you sprung Dogu on me all of a sudden, but in the end... Yuelia and Noelia are happier than ever... and we all got to see my dear Celestia again. So... you have my thanks, [Player].
