Tale of Lunares: Chapter Four

*I've been a little busy being trapped in this statue, sweet pea. I'm sorry. Can we talk about this later?*
LISTEN WELL, THOU, MY SON WHO SEEKEST... THINE THRONE-US OF THE DARK SULTAN...EST.
*ahem* I've always been terrible at talking like this.
Look, Damien. I heard that weak excuse for an oath, and it just...it just doesn't sound like you want it.
And that's fine. But I don't want you doing this unless you're certain it's what you want to do.
You need not say anything. But I must validate that your intentions are true. Let's discuss this further.
I sense great reluctance in your heart regarding the declaration of vengeance upon Castele.
I am greatly interested in why that is.
Come, my son. You can tell me anything. I'm a statue of your father.
SILENCE, CHILD!
Now tell me what is truly in your heart. If you can successfully convey these emotions to a statue...
you shall have earned the official title of Dark Sultan, ruler of Al Maajik.
OHHHHH, man! That's gonna leave a mark!
Well done, Damien! Your courage to enact your true wish before the altar freed me from my prison.
You have proved the power of your heart to be strong and true...Dark Sultan.
Why is everyone just staring— Oh, my legs? Yeah, that is weird, isn't it? Those should come back soon.
I wouldn't call it hiding, my little kumquat. It's not like I put myself there willingly.
*Look, can we please not fight in front of the boy? I'm tired. I just got out of mystical imprisonment—*
Can't we just be happy about something for one second before we overanalyze the entire situation?
No, my little flapping friend. I wouldn't wish that sort of thing upon my worst enemy.
Well, maybe King Erik, just so he could get a taste of how it feels.
Lucky for him, I've had a lot of time to think. You'd be surprised how being a statue changes your view.
I advise that the vendetta against Castele and its people be erased, Dark Sultan.
You may do as you wish, but that is my counsel.
Now, if you don't mind my saying so...I just really want to get out of this nasty chamber.
*I hope I remember how to do this!* Everyone, to the oasis!
You are indeed wise beyond your years, young Dark Sultan.
But today is a special day, so why not set aside that rule for a bit? Daddy still holds some sway here.
Hrm. Seems my warping skills were stronger than I thought. I didn't mean to bring Eldred here.
Just relax and go back to your snooze, Eldred.
So, Damien. Tell me what you know of King Erik.
Yes, yes, that's all fine and dandy, but what of his... stature?
No, I mean, like...his height.
Well, trapping me in that statue was all King Erik's doing, after all. It was a good move, I must say.
I was just wondering if he had found a way to counteract my Regal Imp spell yet. My mistake was in going first. Whenever you go first, you're at a disadvantage, I think.
But if he is still child sized, perhaps we could up the stakes by transforming him with a little "fowl" play.
What do you think, my young Dark Sultan?
THIS IS NO GAME!
My stink-bomb explosion will be told for generations in Castele! Poems were written of that day!
It was only trumped by King Erik's resourcefulness in crafting a Napdragon-size whoopee cushion that—
Wh-wh-what is it, my little snugglemuffin?
My sweet, crumbly peanut bear, please! Remember your blood pressure...
You can't talk to me like that! I am the Dark Sultan!
Yeah, OK, all right. I was stupid. I'm sorry. Can we just get over this? I need a shower and a cold—
Look, my delicate piece of day-old banana bread, you've made your point. I'm sorry. Truly. I am.
Tragic. So, my unsweetened bowl of muesli, I swear to you that Eldred has the right of things here. ...About me being a better husband... I don't know what he's talking about with children chanting at him.
That lucky son of a gun.
I said...uh, "C'mon, let's get out of here...hun." Y'know, like, let's go. And cuddle somewhere.
I can tell when I'm not wanted...
I can already read what is in your heart, my son. It's Erik's letter, correct?
Son, you are the Dark Sultan of Al Maajik now. I give your decision my blessing.
Are you sure you don't need me for anything else? I mean, I do know quite a bit about this whole Dark—
What's this? Odin has found...his laugh! Well, this is quite a special day all around.
Boy, am I in trouble tonight...

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

Lunares is offering a spectacular celestial show...
We'll be plunged into eternal darkness. Maybe the rest of the world will match my outfit better.
But, I mean, come on...we're Dark Sultans, right? Do we not love the dark? No? Am I totally off here?
Oh, yeah, yeah. Right. How'd you get so smart there, Li'l Dark Sultan?

Flutter 025 Of Magic and Flowers

*sigh* It appears my secret oasis for meditation is now anything but.
I'm just joking. Of course you two are welcome here anytime. It is thanks to you I'm free!
In fact, I wished to give you a little something in return for your efforts. Here—take these.
I trust our young baby King Erik was absolutely delighted to hear of my return.
Good. That'll put him on his toes. Let him be anxious for a bit wondering what my next move will be.
Isn't it about time he stepped down by now, anyway?
Ahh, alas...it seems it would have been better to transform him into an older king rather than younger.
Good point.
Sadly, I believe our little exchange of pranks may have to be put on hold. Don't tell King Erik.
Demona is insistent I start...behaving.
Her lectures are more terrifying than the prospect of being trapped inside a statue again.
Of course! Everyone has something they're afraid of.
I take it you met Ahab in Port Puerto? Did he happen to "grace" you with his pirate accent?
I can tell you, it is truly atrocious. Even a gigantic Gigante would flee in terror.
I think he believes that his butchering of the dialect is some sort of high point for his banquets.
King Erik carries quite a fearsome nature with him. Well, at least he did when he was taller. Heh heh...
He's the only person in all of Reveria strong enough to trap me within that statue.
But the one I'm most afraid of, well...that's no secret. That would have to be the bear...
THE bear.
It lives in the Elderwood. An enormous, vicious beast like no other. *shudder*
The bear is so powerful that it is completely impervious to magic.
Even if I throw everything I have at it, it just stands there and yawns at me!
Careful what you wish for, Butterfly.
I sense your destiny will take you to other kingdoms in Reveria.
I wish you luck in your adventures.
Do try to save the world.
What will be will be, no?
I know where you come from, Butterfly. Very few have ever visited that land, although many have...
Actually, perhaps I'll let you reveal that secret when you are ready. Keep me updated on your journey!

Elder Dark Sultan

You stand before the great Elder Dark Sultan. We really need to work on changing that title.
*yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn* OH! You didn't see that.
Ahh, children change so quickly, don't they? I am truly amazed by how much Damien has grown. The last time I saw him, he was still tottering around the fortress in his dark jammies!
Everyone around here seems to have aged a great deal while I was sealed away. Well, everyone apart from old Eldred, that is. He looks the same as he did a hundred years ago.
You met that enormous bear in the forest, didn't you? It's huge! It might look like an oversized teddy, but I assure you that Danuta is incredibly powerful.
For the time being, I have no desire to play any tricks on the Elderwood. After all, that colossal bear is still in good pranking shape. I don't want to mess with her quite yet.
People make such a fuss over Terra Nimbus. "Ooooh, a floating island! In the sky!" BIG DEAL. I could make Al Maajik float on thin air too, y'know! If I wanted to. I just don't right now.
Even I, in all my magnificence, have never ventured as far as Lunares. Who knew it was...a lid!
We all ought to enjoy this world, especially seeing as we were so close to losing it.
I think the reason I enjoy my pranks so much might actually be because it annoys Demona so much! I know. I'm a terrible sultan.
I see you visited Origin Island! Well, I am impressed you made it back unharmed.
I see you visited Origin Island! Well, I am impressed you made it back unharmed.
I hear Damien managed to go to Origin Island under the pretense that it was some kind of "lesson." Why did we have to find such a fascinating place after I stepped down as Dark Sultan?
Damien tells me the residents of Origin Island are particularly fond of soaking in the hot springs.
