SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Ya gotta be quiet in here. This is a library, you know!
A pinch of this...and a dollop of that...aaaaand— KABOOM! KAPOW! KABANG! What a rush! YOU! What do you think you're doing, interrupting me in the middle of an experiment?! SHOO!
You got legs, right? Well, I hope you know how to use 'em, 'cause fieldwork is the name of the game. Alchemists gotta go out into the wide world and gather up all the materials they can...for FREE! Only then should you hit up all the creepy shops to buy the weird stuff you can't find anywhere else.
Alchemy isn't just mixing up potions, you know. ANY muttonhead can do THAT. Real alchemy is all about getting in touch with nature. You gotta know your materials—INTIMATELY!
Every now and then, an Alchemist manages to make an item of exceptionally high quality. When that happens, you gotta make the most of it. Sell that item at a shop for a hiked-up price, and... BAM! You're in the Dosh. Quality items actually WORK better, so they sell like hotcakes. Makes sense, right? That's how I can tell who's good at alchemy and who needs to find another Life! Ha!
Quality items work better, AND they'll fetch more Dosh than the bottom-of-the-barrel stuff. And if you ever try out a different Life, knowing how to make blue-ribbon bombs might come in handy. Yep, I've said it before and I'll say it again: the best Alchemists are the ones who make "da bomb" bombs!

They say practice makes perfect. I forget WHO said it, but someone did. That's because it's true! The more you make an item, the better you'll get at making it. Then you can make a bunch of those items with your eyes closed! Well, not closed. But...squinting! Speaking of whatever we were just talking about... Crankshaft has an alchemy workbench at his place. But he's no Alchemist! He's a crabby old feller, just like me. HA! And speaking of Alchemists—we WERE talking about Alchemists, right? Well, speaking of them, have you met Petri? Now that boy sure knows his combustibles! Finest Alchemist I know! Or maybe that was someone else I'm thinking of... Eh, who cares?

You can use 'em to make fantastically loud noises or to create wowzer light shows! No HP Potion in the world will give you the satisfaction that a good combustible will give ya! Yup, just throw together Minty Ore and some gel, and you've got the materials for a bombastic bomb. But you really need to light a fuse under yourself if you wanna churn out perfect bombs every time.

Anyway, the beast went on a rampage and then headed off to the Subterranean Lake. You know what I'm gonna ask you, right? Yup. Go take care of that Enchanted Golem. If you haven't already, that is. And fix that formula, while you're at it! That way, you can make a proper [Name 2] and we'll sell it to those fools for a jacked-up price!
