Fluffkin Grotto

Oh...it looks like your party's full right now. No room for me... I'm ready to join you anytime, so just let me know when you've got a space open!

Oh, you're playing with friends right now? Come back later, and I'll join your party!

Will you take me to Reveria? [Choice: Add to party / Forget it]

Wow, thank you! I'm so excited! You can count on me.

I'm ready to go anytime. Just let me know!

Dogu still seems a bit under the weather...

Flutter 041 Noelia and the Furlin

It is a blue Furlin! That's amazing!

Why didn't you tell me your sister was a Furlin?!

You have a human sister? Very odd.

You're the girl in white! I saw you in my dreams!

Are you OK, little Dogu?

The tower? Is there something you need to do there?

Your mother...? But why would... I mean, that tower was built in honor of the Goddess.

Daughters of the great Goddess?!

Well, the entrance is usually sealed. Even I've only been in there a few times...

Before you can go inside, you have to fill out an application form and submit it to the elder.

Then a meeting of everyone on the island will be called to decide if you may be permitted entry.

If they approve, you must take an aptitude test and spend a night in the hot springs for purification.

But...if you tell the elder the Goddess is your mother, well...maybe he'll let you skip the application...?

There isn't much inside the tower, though. It's really just a pedestal for the Goddess Statue on top.

I don't know that you'll find anything else in there.

Flutter 042 Castele's Kid King

Aww! What a cute little boy! He's so well behaved, sitting there so quietly in his chair.

Hello. Nice to meet you all. So...what is a king?

You mean...this little boy is actually your elder?

And how old is that?

Um...yes, I suppose you could call this a traditional garb of our people. I mean...they're my clothes.

Well, it's quite dull, to be honest...

Everyone just spends all day getting wrinkled in the hot springs. We're not allowed to leave the island.

Well, I could say the same for Reveria.

Yes, perhaps. I mean, don't get me wrong—it is very lovely here. But things are definitely...different.

What's the matter, Dogu?

Thank you so much, King!

Flutter 043 Next Port of Call

Oh, um, hello. My name is Grace.

Cross the ocean?! You can do that?!

I'd never even thought of that... On the ocean...

But...what if I got out there and couldn't find my way back? What then?

I never thought about where I wanted to escape to... I just thought about wanting to escape.

Love my home... Yes, I guess there is much to love about it.

I really never thought about things like that.

Don't worry—I'm fine. I'm just...a little confused.

Flutter 044 The Sultan's Tower

M-m-my name is Grace, sir! P-p-pleased to meet you.

It's true, your Dark Sultan...ness.

So what exactly does a Dark Sultan do?

Oh! So you're an engraver?

Well, I guess you could say I'm in the family business. I'm a Shrine Maiden on my island.

I'm supposed to spread the word of the Goddess to the people. Not that I've ever heard it myself...

Um...yeah, well. It's just kind of what I've always done, so...y'know...

Yes, usually. Like you said, there aren't many others who could help me even if they wanted to.

I...I don't know, actually. I never knew my parents. My grandfather is the Island Elder, though.

...Can I cook what?

Oh...you mean, like, at all? Sure. I can cook.

Wait a second. I don't like where this is going.

Wh-why do you say that?

Well...yeah, I guess I do.

But my grandfather still won't respect my wishes! He's just always going on about...

"You can't leave the island! You'll bring about the big, bad disaster, blah blah blah..." It's terrible!

Thank you very much! I shall cherish it.

Dogu here is my friend. He helps me out with my work at the shrine.

Why are you talking to that statue?

Flutter 045 The Living Forest

That's the cutest bear I've ever seen!

Oh no! Do I smell? I'm so sorry!

I bathe every day. Maybe it's the hot springs. Gross.

You really don't think I was...wrong to leave?

Thank you for your kindness.

It's so calm and peaceful here. It reminds me of the Forest Shrine back home.

Yes, it's quite beautiful and quite similar, and yet... something about it fills me with a sadness.

Homesickness...? Am I going to be OK?

Homesick. It's a concept I've never heard of. Well, when no one is allowed to leave, how could I have...

Of course. Are there any hot springs here?

Oh no, I meant— Oh well. Never mind.

I thought hot springs might tempt Grandfather to come here for a visit...

...But why am I thinking of Grandfather again?

Oh yes, of course!

Flutter 046 The Sky's the Limit

Whoahhhhhhhh... You live here, Yuelia?!

Whoahhhh... Are you...a god?!

*Or does he just have some sort of hyperglandular condition? We have some people like that at home.*

That's OK. I think this is better for... Well, I wanted to ask you a question, if that's OK.

Well, there is a prophecy on our island that— Well, perhaps you know about it.

It states, "Whosoever leaves Origin Island will invoke the Ancient Disaster."

I wonder if you could tell me exactly what this whole...Ancient Disaster thing is all about...

Why...uh, thank you very much.

So...have you ever heard that prophecy before?

The one that states "Whosoever leaves Origin Island will invoke the Ancient Disaster."

Actually, that's OK. I'm really looking for information more than anything else.

Oh no! What's wrong with Dogu?

I've never seen him like this!

You might be right. I think Dogu and I should return to Origin Island, at least for now.

It will be nice to tell everyone about what I've seen here in...Reveria. Tee hee!

I still can't believe you use that name.

Thank you for showing me around, [Player]. And you too, Yuelia.

Everyone will be so excited to hear about all of the things I've seen here!

Once Dogu gets better, I'd love to come back.

Wow, that sounds amazing! We'd love to see that, wouldn't we, Dogu?

And please know you are welcome to visit us whenever you would like as well.

Flutter 047 Goddess's Ancient Tower

Ah! [Player], Yuelia! You two are just in time!

I was about to try to speak with the Goddess again.

No! Please stay as you are.

Thank you, Your Greatness. I still have much to learn.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they're called Trial of Time, the Trial of Darkness, and the Trial of Light...

It's a shame I couldn't keep her here longer...

There's no need to thank me. Without your help—

Origin Island: Chapter One

Dogu! Oh, where have you been? I was so worried about you!

Yeah, Leo. It's fine.

OH! I mean...yes. Yes, milord...Lord Leo. I've just finished with the shrine prayer ceremony.

Oh, Dogu! I'm so happy to see you safe and sound!

Do I owe Dogu's return to you? Where was he all this time?

A land called Storage Room? My, that sounds quite exotic! And these fine folks helped out?

I knew you had escaped to another world!

Oh, er...well, I mean. I just meant that I had looked for Dogu everywhere in our world, so he must've...

It doesn't matter! Visitors from Storage Room, I thank you for bringing Dogu back to me!

Cas...tell? Like...full belly?

That's what "castell" means in the ancient language.

Wait a second. So does that mean...

Oh, stop it, Leo! They saved Dogu!

But I'm sure they're good people! I can just tell, Leo!

Fine. Of course I don't want to incite the Ancient Disaster. Geez...

OK, I get it, sir lord big cheese Leo.

*sniff* *sniff*

NNNNNNWAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!

Thanks, Leo! I'm glad we are agreed, then!

I'm really sorry you had to see that, uh...

What should I call you?

Thank you again. It's a pleasure to meet you both.

My name is Grace. I perform this island's sacred rites. Please forget that...personal rite I just did.

Come with me, and I'll lead you to the Island Elder.

The Forest Shrine is that way.

Welcome to The Originwood. Our Forest Shrine is just up ahead.

So your homeland is really called Rah-veir-eya?

Well, with a name that means "delightful, cozy toes," I would think so!

So you live in a full belly inside the world of delightful, cozy toes! What a wonderful home!

I knew the outside world was a real thing.

Everyone said it was just a myth, but it's out there!

Grandfather and Leo are too stubborn to believe in its existence, though!

I want to know more about this outside world!

Oh, I only get all chant-y when I'm performing my official duties.

It's a vital role. There's a lot of pressure to perform those perfectly...

I usually get very emotional afterward. It's not who I am most of the time. I'm usually pretty cheerful!

I know Leo seems kind of like a bossy tyrant, but he's really very kind. He's like an older brother. Heh.

Yes, as I'm the elder's granddaughter, it just kind of comes with the territory.

It's supposed to be a prayer, but it's really more like meditation for the islanders.

The truth is, though...

Oh, nothing. Sorry. My mind just tends to wander after the ceremony!

The elder is up on that hill.

Oh, that's the special sulfur we use in our hot spring here. I guess I'm just used to it now.

A lot of people from Origin Island come here to unwind after a long day.

Technically, this is the Forest Shrine, but a lot of people call this Mount Soakpeak.

Some folks spend entire days submerged here until they've shriveled up like old prunes.

Oh, Grandfather...I should've known you'd be here.

[Player], Yuelia... This is my grandfather.

He's also the Island Elder.

Um, it's OK, Grandfather. Just...never mind.

Well...yeah. How did you know?

Yes, thank you again.

The springs may not smell great, but they're perfect for a nice, relaxing dip!

The springs may not smell great, but they're perfect for a nice, relaxing dip!

Our guests really did come from the other world!

"Joyous, snuggly, feet digits" wasn't just a myth after all, was it?

If the door goes one way, why shouldn't we be free to go through it and explore as much as we want?!

WHOOOO CARES?! I should be able to live my Life the way I want to!

I...I don't know. But I know I'll be free... Free like that girl I see in my dreams sometimes.

No, Grandfather, it's fine. It's just that...I don't want to be trapped here anymore! I hate this!

You stubborn, old prune!

You smell like rotten eggs, and I hope you poach yourself in your precious spring of stinkiness!

Oh! You two. What do you want?

Oh. I'm sorry for running off...causing trouble.

Sorry, Dogu. Sorry, Peachy. I didn't mean to worry anyone. I just needed some time alone.

Whenever I get angry like that, I come here to focus on my breath...to just practice some deep breathing.

I thought the breeze might carry smells from a far-off land...but it just smells like the same old ocean.

Yeah. If only it were that easy.

Heh. Please...it's OK. Yummy, aren't they?

But...it looks like I've made Louisa worry about me as well. *sigh*

Louisa has been there for me ever since I was little.

I can't believe I got into another fight with Grandfather! Louisa must be so sick of our drama...

*sigh* It wasn't always like this. See, there's this prophecy that states:

"Whosoever leaves Origin Island will invoke the Ancient Disaster."

Supposedly it's a Shrine Maiden who does this.

But that's just according to some stupid legend that talks about some stupid Ancient Disaster...

So my grandfather, as the village elder, likes to remind me every single day about this stupid legend.

And I hate it! I just...I just want to be free. I want to be able to travel and see the outside world!

I can't stand the thought of being nothing more than a Shrine Maiden on some desolate little island...

It's selfish of me, I know, but the more I try to forget about it, the stronger my dreams seem to become...

You sum up my feelings so well, and yet we've only just met. You should be a poet, Yuelia.

You had a dream...one that you felt powerless to achieve?

So what happened?

Really? You'll really take me...out there?! [Choice: Of course / Just joking]

You don't have to repeat yourself to me! Unlike Leo, I believe you the first time!

Wow, that sounds really impressive... Yeah, no offense, but

a pro adventurer! Or at least not the type of one I'd expect to see.

It looks like Dogu wants to come with us too.

What about you, Peachy?

Oh, I'm sure it's safe. Dogu came back fine.

And I think we can trust our new friends here.

How about this? I'll go first and scout it for you.

Once I've made sure it's safe, we can go back there together! Sound good?

Oh, but...don't tell Grandfather a giga thing, OK?

OK, [Player]...I'm in your capable hands!

Dogu and I will try not to be a burden.

I can't wait to see the land of Wiggling Joy Toes!

Oh, your sister's here? I'd love to meet her!

I heard about that! The Furlin were all excited about the strange new Furlin with the exotic blue fur!

It was spotted with a young girl dressed in black on the north end of the island.

That sounds good.

We're going to take Peachy back to the grotto. Why don't you meet us there?

And then we'll all go meet your sister before we embark on our new adventure! Oh, I can't wait!

Origin Island: Chapter Two

Oh, Goddess of Lunares... Can you hear my words? Will I bring about the Ancient Disaster? Simply because I dreamed of seeing the outside world? Of seeing Reveria, with my own eyes...? If that is indeed the truth, then... as the one who invoked the disaster, I do not accept its finality. As the Shrine Maiden, I reject its truth. I shall risk my Life to see that my own desires do not cause the destruction of my land. I now understand my duty.

[Player] too! Oh, and Leo!

No! It's not his fault!

Dogu! That's enough now!

Please! I just want the old Dogu back!

Dogu, you stop this right now!

This is all my fault. I did this!

I broke the sacred law as a Shrine Maiden. Take me, and leave the others out of this!

I'm sorry. I, of all people, should have been able to put my own desires aside for the good of my people.

But I didn't. And even in my mistake, I can see the light that shines.

Had I not left, I would not have been reenergized with an understanding of how beautiful it is here.

The people here are some of the most wonderful individuals I could ever hope to meet.

It's every bit as wonderful here as it is in Reveria!

Leo...you needn't apologize.

I'm the one who has failed in my sacred duty.

Louisa said I was never to do this, but...

as a Shrine Maiden, there is one last thing I can do...

[Player], Yuelia...thank you.

Seeing Reveria has made me so, so happy.

Oh, Goddess... Goddess of Lunares...hear my plight.

I am one of an ancient tribe...the people of origin!

And I call on you to save this island!

I offer up my mortal form to appease the Ancient Disaster before us.

Leo, stop. Do you still remember my favorite story you used to tell me when we were little?

The one about the brave adventurer who traveled the world collecting wishes...?

It has always been my favorite.

It helped me understand the importance of wishes and dreams as I grew up. For without a wish, without a dream...there is no future to be realized.

Hold still, Dogu. This shall only take a moment.

The G-Goddess...?!

This must be a dream. That's the only explanation...

I...believe in the power of wishes... And dreams. Please understand that.

...Where's Dogu?!

Is Dogu hurt? Where is he?!

Dogu, no! Please! Please just open your eyes!

*sniff* ...Dogu...you can't...can't do this...*nngh*

NNNNNNWAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!

Grandfather! What are you doing here?

Um, Noelia? I'm sorry to interrupt, but...

Are you sure that Dogu will be fine? He, uh...still hasn't moved.

I mean, does this mean the whole Ancient Disaster thing is over?

A domestic...spat?

Dogu?! I didn't know Dogu could talk!

So Dogu is a bit of a conduit to the god?

Dogu! Who taught you how to speak like that!

So...it was all just a big lie?

Even gods and goddesses are human, I guess...

I don't believe it. You...were a Shrine Maiden?

That would've been enough to have me in tears.

See, Leo? If the Goddess forgives, then you must find it in your heart to do the same.

Oh, Dogu...I'm just glad you're OK after all of this. *sniff* *sniff*

*sniff* Yeah, I'll be fine. *sniff* I just need a moment.

I'm...*sniff* not going to cry...in front of *sniff* every...one...nnnnnn...

NNNNNNWAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!

I still can't believe I'm standing here with the Goddess and her daughters. I feel so lucky!

I would love to consider all of you my friends.

I'm equally to blame, Grandfather. Sorry for acting like a brat. I was only thinking of myself.

I already asked, Grandfather. They thought I was talking about the seasons.

Yes, and...you know, since you're taking the time, you could put on some pants too.

I met Yuelia in my dream!

Dawn is breaking over the island! Isn't it beautiful?

We'll have a Furlin marriage here! And their anniversary will be the day you came to our island!

My anniversary? What do you mean?

I'll come and visit you in the other world as well! You know that was my dream, after all!

I look forward to our next visit.

Grace

Fine weather today, isn't it?

I'm ready to go whenever you are, so just let me know, OK?

Don't tell me you're going back to Reveria at this time of night!

It took me a long time to realize how wonderful my birthplace really is! The beautiful ocean, the forest...our rich history! And all the wonderful people and beasts living here! I took it all for granted until I finally left the island and gained some outside perspective... [Player], thank you for helping me to really open my eyes and appreciate what I have! I am forever in your debt.

For so long now, I've tried to hear the Goddess rather than the words of my people! I've now realized the true duty of a Shrine Maiden.
