Tale of Lunares: Chapter Five

You already know Leilah.

And these are Leafes, the spirits of the forest.

You'll have to forgive me if I seem a bit...brusque. But we have been under quite a bit of duress here.

We have seen strange behavior out of several forest creatures since those stones started falling.

I thank you for protecting Leilah, but I must enforce our law that forbids hoomins in our village.

It is a sacred oath made in the name of the Goddess between the forest dwellers and the hoomin race...

Call it whatever you will.

We did not create our land. Yet we strive to respect it so that we may live in it each and every day.

Or put another way, hoomins stay out of our village, and we stay away from hoomins. Got it?

Of course not! Don't be ridiculous.

We forest dwellers reside with the spirits. We are but half hoomin and half Other.

I have never heard our chief speak of any type of Goddess Treasure.

*Famous last words...*

No. I'm sorry. I forbid it.

Leilah, these hoomins shouldn't even be here! What kind of trouble do you think we'd get in if we took—

I understand that. But that doesn't change the sacred oath made many generations ago.

*sigh* No matter how hard I try to look out for her well-being...this is how I get repaid.

I apologize for any promises my sister may have made to you, but as her guardian...

I cannot allow any of this. Again, I thank you, but we shall have no more to do with unproven hoomins.

Nothing. It's just...a condition of the ancient agreement. It's a figure of speech.

Ha ha ha! This butterfly speaks of hoomin concepts in a most humorous manner.

Have you ever performed in front of an audience where you're from?

I've just never seen markings such as the ones on your wings. I'm a bit of a butterfly aficionado.

I see. Well, you have earned the courtesy of resting here for a bit to gather your strength.

However, after that, I'm afraid I must escort you from Elderwood Village.

Hoomins are strictly forbidden from being in Elderwood Village. Period.

Duly noted. We shall discuss butterflies at the next village council meeting.

Let me know when you're ready to leave, and I shall lift the seal upon the entrance.

Ready to leave? [Choice: Let's go / ,,Just a bit longer...]

Then I shall escort you to the exit.

I shall continue to wait on you.

There. You should be able to pass.

I truly am grateful to you for rescuing my little sister. Please know that.

A hoomin woman from Castele...?

Occasionally, we get a lost hoomin wandering across our borders, but not as far as I know...

Wait a sec. Now that I think of it, I do remember a hoomin lady who used to visit when I was little.

Back when there were many other children of the forest. That was before they all went away...

Actually, you do kind of remind me a little of that lady. Something about the cheeks...

A letter...from whom?

This letter is intended for The Great Spirit herself.

I shall deliver it to her personally.

Incidentally...I should tell you that the name of Lady Ophelia is not unknown to me...

Where is she?! Out of my way!

What happened?!

I can barely feel her pulse. She's not just... It's almost as if she's under some sort of spell.

What do you mean?!

Being half Other, it is possible that we could be affected by the Doomstone.

...Although hoomins are not.

What am I supposed to do? I don't know of a forest medicine that will cure this! Help me save my sister!

You talk too much, just like hoomins, butterfly! What is it?!

The shadows are spreading across her body!

Can you really save my sister?

I'll show you two where the Doomstone landed. Let's go! Quickly now!

What are you hoomins doing sneaking around here?

Well then, what do we do?! We can't just give up!

They could only be...goddesses.

You're right. What was I thinking? They're obviously totally normal and not of any supernatural origin.

Let's just do what she says, and do it quickly.

Do you feel some sort of crackling of energy? Almost as if the air is alive?

That's it! I'm going in!

I thought it'd be bigger.

Hold on, Leilah!

Please. Can you use them to save Leilah?

Leilah! Are you OK?

Sister Leilah, I was so worried...

[Player]! Yuelia! Laura!

The Great Spirit has spoken.

She wishes to meet with you.

Yes, well...I may have been a bit rash in my judgment. The Great Spirit read your letter, though.

She has decided to deem you all worthy. And proven, I suppose.

The forest dwellers have had a...special agreement with certain members of the royal family of Castele.

According to The Great Spirit, you, Laura, are one of their direct descendants.

The Great Spirit waits within. When you are ready, please make your way to see her.

The Great Spirit waits within.

I have brought our guests, O Great Spirit.

Great Spirit...your hoomin voice, please.

But there are others here. Like Leilah and myself.

I'll guide you up the Spirit Tree. It's easy to get lost.

You two might as well come too.

Nonsense. You two helped save my sister...even if you didn't mean to. Please come.

The entry is open. You may enter at your leisure.

Hughes headed off to the ship.

Please visit us again. I know Leilah would like to see you again. And...I wouldn't mind so much either.

Tale of Lunares: Chapter Six

You've brought us a greater understanding of the world we often take for granted, Yuelia.

I'd like to raise a motion that we file a complaint with Yuelia's father, Reveria's creator.

We live here. This is our world. We'll be very... inconvenienced if Reveria is destroyed, right?

I propose we go speak with this...y'know, this god, and tell him how we feel about Reveria.

Perhaps if we show him we're making an effort, he will be able to help us.

Sure. I do not know if that ship will work, however.

The spirits of the forest...third that.

Call us anytime. We're good with our hands.

Hrm... Well, I suppose not. The Great Spirit has accepted you, so I shall as well.

I can ask the Leafes to help too. After all, hoomins, spirits, half-monsters, and others...

all must work together toward this common goal.

I can't believe I'm saying this.

We must save Reveria!

Thank you for doing so much for Reveria! The Great Spirit will certainly be grateful.

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

Best of luck to you all.

I hope they can still make it!

Take care. You are always welcome back here in the Elderwood. Really!

Flutter 028 Forest Life

Ah, good to see you two!

I was hoping I would get to speak with you before the summit.

Yes. Unfortunately, The Great Spirit is unable to leave the forest for...logistical reasons.

Well, through learning to trust you two and your band of acquaintances...

I realized perhaps hoomins aren't all bad.

However, it may also be true that you two represent the exception, rather than the rule.

Well, we creatures of the forest have long been separated from hoomins, you see...

I just don't know. Perhaps it is time for us to become united as one Reveria.

I don't know if the hoomins and our spirits are really ready for this.

Many of the forest spirits are deeply afraid and distrustful of hoomins.

And I'm sure such feelings would go the other way as well...if hoomins knew we existed.

I have traveled quite a bit across this land. I have spent a goodly amount of time in each kingdom.

And I cannot say that everything I saw was a complete vision of peace and bliss.

I witnessed petty fights between pirates and the young governor in Port Puerto.

In Al Maajik, I saw a royal family that seemed to isolate their child in the name of enacting revenge.

There I also witnessed dim-witted, would-be heroes blindly hoping for glory as they shook like cowards.

Can you truly say these hoomins would not destroy the peace of the forest given the chance?

I should have suspected that beneath everything, there was a good nature lying in wait.

I do not doubt your words, but I must confess...my own questions come from my fear.

I trust that most hoomins mean well, and yet I am still apprehensive about having contact with them.

But I must remind myself...it is only my own fear. And this is the fear that separates and divides.

I must be strong for the sake of the forest...and for the sake of Reveria.

Forgive me for expressing my unfair judgment. I don't want that to be your impression of me.

[Player], I have something to request of you, if you would be kind enough to hear it...

Would you consider allowing me to accompany you on your travels sometime?

The world I saw when traveling alone did nothing but fill me with concern.

However, I have a feeling that if I travel with you, perhaps you could show me a different perspective.

I look forward to seeing the world as you do.

Flutter 045 The Living Forest

If you'd like, we can show you around the forest. I'm sure all the Leafes here would like to meet you.

So there is a place like the Elderwood on Origin Island too?

...Hot springs? Well, they're rather mild here, but after a harsh winter, it feels kind of hot.

Grace, we would love to meet your grandfather. And we would like to give you a memento of your visit.

Erm...sorry, Yuelia. It's just for Grace.

Pino

Welcome. Please relax and enjoy yourselves.

Welcome. Please relax and enjoy yourselves.

I was once vehemently opposed to allowing hoomins into our village. It seems so foolish now...

I shall warn the forest animals to stay away from the Goddess Ship. We guarantee its safety.

It's hard to believe that such a large thing can really fly through the sky...

Pierre and his friends have really taken a shine to our village. I hope they enjoy themselves here...

I don't know if it's just my imagination. I feel like... a dark cover over the forest has been lifted... As if we are no longer hiding in the shadows, but now living under the open sun...with the hoomins. Fear and prejudice can be overcome just by getting to know one another. A beautiful thing, is it not?

We shall continue our lives here in the deep forest, watching over the spirits just as we always have.

Well met, [Player]. The Elderwood is peaceful again today.

Truly, there is an unusual scent on the air. Unusual... yet not unpleasant. It smells like a new beginning!

I took Leilah to Origin Island recently. I am truly glad I did. She enjoyed herself quite a bit.

You know that hot spring on Origin Island? Gazing at the night sky while in steaming hot water is amazing!

Origin Island: Chapter One

Hello! You're back! And who's your new friend?
