Sword for Hire (NPC page)

Field talk (32 lines)

Castele Square

Swords aren't just weapons, you know. They're also great objects of art and beauty! Now, I'm no swordsman, but I know a good sword when I see it. And I've got the best swords in town!

West Grassy Plains

Al Maajik ahead. Better be careful.
Have you been to the Desert Ravine yet? Savage...

Castele Fine Arms

I slew a dragon with a sword I purchased from this very establishment... In my dreams, of course! That's why I sleep with the sword under my pillow!

Gustaf

I am great nomadic Mercenary, Gustaf. Castele's Paladins patrol here, so there is nothing to do. Is great shame for Gustaf.
Paladins have scared away all monsters. There is nothing for a Mercenary to do.
Ah, so you are Mercenary too? Nice to meet you. I am great wandering Mercenary, Gustaf. Sadly, Gustaf cannot wander now. He has orders. You should visit Gustaf often for Mercenary teaching.
You still just Fledgling? Then let Gustaf share his knowledge with you. The key to being great Mercenary is no matter how unpleasant task is, you must be a professional. Dosh is for professionals. Remember that.
So you reach Apprentice rank? Good work. Gustaf must stay here and has no need for this.
Mercenaries often wear heavy metal armor. Did you know SP recovers faster in lighter cloth armor?

Ah, Adept rank...perhaps you come here looking for great beast of Mount Snowpeak, the Silverfang? Is very dangerous monster that is living on top of mountain. I suggest you take great care.
You can make mighty weapon using ore from top of mountain. You could be greatest Mercenary in Castele if you get past mighty Silverfang. Of course, you will need Blacksmith skills or friend to make said mighty weapon.

Some monsters are being especially vulnerable to certain weapon attributes... Good to create your own weapons and use this knowledge to your advantage in battle. However, you must have Blacksmith License to make your own blade. Maybe you should try out new Life.
Mount Snowpeak is actually home to many different types of ore. On this mountain, there is Magma Ore and Platinum Ore...good for crafting powerful weapons.

So you are Master now? I suppose you heard rumors of dark dinosaur, the Lord of the Dead? If you are truly Master, you are needing to take care of such beast. Best of luck, my friend.
The Lord of the Dead is also being servant of the Dark Sultan. Is test for any Master Mercenary. The beast appears in the Aridian Desert at night. How you go about it, however, is being up to you.

So you reached Hero rank? Such achievement! You would do well to visit Al Maajik, I think. They have many powerful weapons available there. In addition to the Flamberge and the Arcana Blade... there is being one filled with power of darkness.
In addition to the Flamberge and the Arcana Blade, swords imbued with powers of flame and magic... there is being rumor of another mighty blade there imbued with power of darkness itself.

I hear you achieved Legend rank. Congratulations! Have you heard rumors of legendary blade? Blade of ultimate power said to be imbued with power of moon...? One must be a Master Mercenary to be worthy of it. But that is not all. I hear you must also be mastering two other types of Life that are being valued by pirates. Only when you have mastered these three are you being worthy of receiving blade. Or so is said.
Is rumored a legendary weapon has been passed down through generations of Port Puerto's pirates. But I hear you must also master two other types of Life being valued by pirates besides Mercenary. Only when you have mastered these three are you being worthy of receiving blade. Or so is said.
On that note, my client has now sadly terminated my contract. Gustaf's investigation is being ending. Such great shame, as I hear each part of Reveria has own legendary weapon...
Aiming for Creator rank, da? Must be nice to have this freedom. Gustaf is not having such a luxury.
Gustaf would also like to be a free Mercenary, just like you! Ah, to chase Gustaf's own dreams!

You have reached Creator rank? Such respect... Many congratulations!
You must know already, but Gustaf is working as Mercenary in these parts. Here to defeat strong enemies, so I would appreciate if you left some for Gustaf.
