Tale of Lunares: Chapter Three

And where are my manners? I'm Ahab. Just a simple fisherman. The pleasure is all yours. Har har har!

Aw, let's just say I like to think of myself as a li'l fish who happens to know a few of the big fish.

Have you met the local big fish we got swimmin' around here in Port Puerto?

The king of...? Har har har! That's a good one, li'l butterfly. The king may be thar and may be not thar.

Oh, don't stress about it too much, li'l one. Enjoy the sights we have to offer here.

Take a stroll down the streets, enjoy the beaches...

I won't be reportin' ya back to li'l Erik if you wanna take some time off to relax. Har har!

Not that he would know anything about takin' a break every now and then. Farewell, li'l ones.

Ah, I knew we'd meet again, my li'l friends! How does the sea roar for ya?

Yer talkin' grammar, eh? Are ya tryin' to embarrass ol' Ahab here by overwhelmin' him with talkin' rules?

Well, we're agreed thar. Care to join me? I was just talkin' with my dear late wife regardin' my daughter.

Prolly looks like I was talkin' to myself, eh?!

Ah har har har!

Aw, blast yer apologies! Don't ya worry yer li'l head, sparkly butterfly lassie.

In fact, ya might be able to help me out. See, my daughter be a hot-blooded, competitive lassie...

But she's still my li'l girl, see? Even though she's all grown up now...

*sigh* Don't ever become a parent, li'l butterfly. The li'l ones will break your heart without even knowing it!

Well, seems like you have a bit o' passion on this subject, eh, li'l flappy lassie?

Well, don't we have a wise li'l one here!

I love it! Har har har! Maybe you got a career in family therapy, butterfly!

What is it that you two be doin' around here, anyway?

Hmph. She stood ya up, eh? That be a tough one.

Ah, the days of searchin' for booty! How I miss it.

But treasure huntin' nowadays ain't the same as what it used to be. The sea is angry these days...

The land is scared. The most important thing 'bout adventurin' is gettin' you and yer mates back safe!

Remember that! And be sure to spread the word to your treasure-huntin' friends.

If they ever show up! Har har har!

Since ya don't seem to have much to say, let me offer ya a li'l bit o' advice.

When you're searchin' for treasure, rough waters are the norm. Here's a hint to make things easier.

I wasn't always on the legal side of the sea, li'l one! Har har har!

I know the treasure ya be seekin'. The legend says all ya need to do is look up—Lunares marks the spot!

We don't have much to do but pass the time with talk here in Port Puerto. Word travels, li'l butterfly.

Got more than somethin' to do with it. If Lunares takes a shinin' to ya, it'll show ya the treasure.

The lassie yer waitin' for be a smart one. I don't think ya should have any problem findin' it.

Har, I've already been sayin' too much here. I'm off. Don't be eatin' the fruit I left behind for my dear wife.

No drinkin' the juice, either! It is tasty, though! Har!

But if you'd rather be spendin' yer energy on fightin' rather than eatin'...I'd be more than happy to oblige.

I'm more your size, anyway, coward! Har har har!

Har har har! People still be tellin' those tales, eh?

How are ya, Brutus? Been quite some time.

Yer not be startin' silly fights still, eh?

That be all good then.

Ya know what'd happen if ya laid yer dirty hands on these good 'n' decent...mates of yers, eh?

You'll let me know if there's any other trouble out here, right, Andy?

Good t' hear, good t' hear.

I'll be needin' to speak with yer sister for a bit.

Looks like ya found that journal, eh?

Har har har! That makes fer one weak bit o' booty, if ya ask me!

But that's not the point, see. How did you fare with the riddle of the seven heads ya saw thar?

Or did ya miss it?

Ya read the seven rules of bein' a pirate, yar?

How much more obvious can it be? Yer awful quiet over thar, [Player].

Ya got any thoughts?

Olivia, come with me, dear Daughter. I have somethin' to show ya.

[Player], care to come too? I think this'll interest you as well.

Let me speak with Olivia for a moment. Meet us at the lighthouse, yar?

This lighthouse was a very important place for Elise and me.

Oh, Olivia, if only you'd heard some of the squalls yer mother and I got into regardin' yer future.

Your mother loved you dearly, Olivia. She wanted ya to have every opportunity.

In the end, we agreed on what was best for you.

I feel lucky we were able to settle that before... before she passed on.

It's not that I wanted ya to be a pirate. I wanted ya to do whatever ya wanted.

If that meant bein' a pirate, then so be it. Elise's wish was to raise ya as befits a noble.

We were both very opinionated on this matter. And, of course, our opinions were very different.

Andy was easy. We both agreed he shouldn't be playin' sports.

With you, though, it took us a while to realize neither of us were gonna be completely right.

So we hatched a plan.

Let Olivia Decide, we called it.

We stashed somethin' in a shipwreck downed on a monster-infested shoal.

We figured that way, if you ever found it...

Yar. We figured if you found it, it'd prove pirate blood be thicker in yer veins than noble blood.

I still can see yer mother's smile. She agreed that if ya pulled this off, she'd have to concede.

I know, my dear. Trust me, I know. But ya can bear it. We both can. And we'll both go on fer her sake.

Which brings me to the riddle. Do ya still not see it?

It were yer mother who devised it, after all. She left her approval to ya plain as day.

[Player]? I find it unnerving when one is so silent.

You see the answer, don't ya?

Har har har! It sure does, my sweet!

There is yer mother's true wish right thar.

Now we just got one last bit o' business.

Don't get ahead of yerselves now. She only be a fledglin' cap'n.

She be needin' to learn the ropes from ya, so be firm with her sometimes as needed! She needs ya!

Har har har! It's time to celebrate!

I can practically hear yer mother laughin' with us... wherever she may be.

Oh no. She had a bigger laugh than me! Hers was more like "bwar hardee har har!"

Well, this has been quite the li'l adventure.

Allow me to present ya two with a token o' gratitude for helping Olivia.

This here has been the crown jewel o' the pirate class in Port Puerto for many generations.

Its safety was entrusted to me many years ago...

And I see now what it was bein' kept safe for all the years. Butterfly, I got a message for yer king.

I don't know much about no Doomstones or the end of Reveria as we know it...

But I do know we all rely on one sea to keep us afloat. It's one world, and we're all mates here.

I hope this gift helps. And if it doesn't...we'd be likin' it back just as soon as is convenient.

Me swashbucklin' years be over. A turtle turned a tortoise. Gwah ha ha har!

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

Ah har har har! Har! Har har!

*cough* *wheeze*

Gar har har! Har har har! Oh, Andy, my boy! When did you start worryin' about things?

I be no more worried 'bout those space pirates than be our own Olivia here.

Flutter 020 Elise's Lighthouse

Har har har! Ahoy yerself, li'l flying fishy. What can I do for ya?

Well, that sounds like what the people wearin' suits would call a capital idea, li'l one. Let's head on up!

Har har har! So even li'l butterflies get it, eh?

It's somethin' that's hard to explain. But once ya make contact with the sea, there's no turning back.

Or maybe I should say, once the sea makes contact with you! Think fast! Catch!

Oh, I just dropped my line into a nice hot griddle, and there he was!

Ye can ask. No guarantee I'll answer. Har!

Me? Govern?! I'm sorry—didn't realize I was dealin' with a blind butterfly all this time.

I'm the last person fit to govern anythin' but a rod, a piece of bait, and a sturdy ship.

I raised my children to be independent and work for what they want. If ya work, you can enjoy your Life.

Olivia has her mother's brains and more courage than me. She doesn't need any o' my meddling.

Andy? He's different. He's a more sensitive type. Y'gotta watch his feelings and such.

Maybe we shoulda let him play sports after all. Har har har!

Hey! Don't ye be gettin' the wrong idea!

I'm not just sittin' around all lonesome and doin' nothing but thinking of memories of Elise!

I...I've been fishing a lot lately. And I, um...I knit.

But when it comes down to it, I still feel that heavy heart when I think of my dear Elise. And it's hard.

She was indeed the wonderfullest, li'l one! And that's what I need to remember to keep my spirits up!

Anyway, thanks for talkin' with me, li'l butterfly. And your friend here is the best listener I've ever seen.

Well, if you're out collectin' the Goddess Treasures, I'm guessin' yer next stop will be Al Maajik, har?

Enough to know the Dark Sultan was a fearsome monstrosity, awright.

Seems his son has taken the throne now, though...

Let me just say I never met his son. I don't wanna judge, but I hope things're different now.

Make sure to bring us a good tale or two, li'l fishies!

Flutter 043 Next Port of Call

Gwahahaha! Got another big catch today, little fishies!

I thought it were nothin' more than an old fish tale, but I guess that ain't so, eh?

Gah! If only I'd looked a bit harder!

Why on earth are ye leavin' such a place to be visitin' us here, li'l one?

But there's nothin' like the journey that comes full circle. The hero will always be returnin' home! HAR!

Fishin' from one's shore means a lot more after fishin' from the deck o' yer ship out on the high sea!

Har har har! Times o' confusion call for a hearty meal of fish!

Here! I pulled out this rare beauty this very mornin'. Doesn't get any fresher'n this!

Well, I was meanin' it for our new friend here. But lucky for you, Yuelia, I pulled out two of 'em!

Ahab

Li'l fishin's the best way to relax, li'l fishie!

Word is King Erik looks like a little shrimp now, eh? Per'aps I should use 'im as shark bait or somethin'?

I've got meself a new habit lately. At the end o' every day, I make sure I tell Elise what's been happenin'. She doesn't reply, o' course! So rude! Har har har!

Did ye meet the Elder Dark Sultan, then, li'l fishie? He's a pain in the behind, don't ya think?

Ahoy there! I was jus' tellin' Elise that Olivia's gone an' started her Life as a pirate governess!

Sometimes ye can spend all day fishin' an' still come away with nothin'. Or no-fin, if ya will! Har har!

I was just givin' Elise the daily report, tellin' her that Andy's been a lot happier lately.

Reckon there be any fishies up on Terra Nimbus? I bet they're a bit different to the ones down here!

I was jus' tellin' Elise how all you youngsters have been doin' yer best for all of us.

It'll take more than a little thing like the end o' the world ter stop me from fishin'! Har har har!

Ahoy... I was just tellin' Elise that the kids are doin' fine. Better than either of us coulda hoped fer.

Har har! Got meself a big catch today, li'l fishie!

Har har! Got meself a big catch today, li'l fishie!

Soon as I heard you found Terra Nimbus, you flew off to Lunares. An' now Origin Island! A swimmin' shark gathers no barnacles, eh?

The ocean's a big place, li'l fishie. Reckon there be more'n a few legendary islands waitin' to be found!

I went an' visited Origin Island with Olivia an' Andy. Our first family vacation in quite a bit! We loved it!

If you were a pirate, I reckon the whole world would know yer name by now! Ah well, guess infamy ain't fer everyone, right? Har!
