Field talk (204 lines)

Prologue: Welcome to Reveria!

You probably shouldn't give us such ideas. We are quite aware of how special a talking butterfly is.
Don't be a fool! We're not going to eat you. We're going to sell you and make a tidy sum of Dosh! With that Dosh, we shall purchase a grand feast!
Oh my... And now this butterfly has the gall to label us as ruffians!
My friend, please just go along your business and leave us to deal with this quarrelsome insect.
Butch...please talk less in front of others.
And you! Nosy...observer type! I'll ask you once more to leave us be. This doesn't concern you.
A man must be free to enrich himself as he sees fit.
Either through work, art, or the acquisition of Dosh!
So, friend, just as Butch here said. How about you give us all your Dosh, and we'll be on our merry way.
Butch, you have the honor of emptying
WHAT?! I am incredulous. Incredulous, I say I am!
How do you expect to get about this world with no Dosh lining your pockets?
This Doshless hobo and this chatty butterfly deserve each other's company.
Aha! I knew you must have something on you!
I'm starting to feel sorry for the kid now.
I'm starting to feel sorry for the kid now.
Well, I suppose it's better than nothing. Hand it over.
This should teach you to mind your own affairs. And for the love of Reveria, make some Dosh.
If you would like to engage in a staring contest, then please let me know ahead of time.

Tale of Lunares: Chapter One

Can you confirm that a stone of doom was sighted in this location, squire?
Just let me do the talking! You stand there and stick your chin out quietly.
My good man, we are scholars under the tutelage of Professor Hughes.
I'm actually the professor's right-hand man, Pierre.
Oh, no, no, my good man. My brother here said that serving Professor Hughes was a singular pleasure.
And that he's excited to...measure the stone. And when we're done, he's hoping for some leisure.
Oh, of course!
Way to keep flapping your lips, cabbage head! You nearly blew the whole plan!
The plan where we secure the Doomstone for ourselves and then sell it to Hughes for a fortune!
But first things first! We need to stash it somewhere until we can talk to Hughes.
Remember that cave we found earlier? That would be the perfect place to hide this for the time being!
My scheme is almost too immaculate.
ARGH! Release me at once, you little beast!
Butch, do something! That thing of yours nearly ate my face off! Once again, my beard saved me.
Dear mother of Goddess of all that is holy in the realm we call Reveria...
That...THING of yours tried to swallow me whole!
Are you blind, Butch?! He's transformed into some sort of...rampaging beast.
Stop being so dramatic, Butch. I'm sure that whole... nefarious-demon look will clear up on its own.
He'll be right as rain soon enough. We just need to give him some time.
We have to keep moving, though. We've hidden the stone, but if we stick around, someone may find us.
Come. We'll be back to check on him.
What are you doing here?! Didn't you read the sign?! It said to keep out! ...Didn't it?
I get nervous when I write, OK?!
I thought we had an agreement that you would mind your own business, butterfly.
Don't get in our way again, butterfly. Or you'll regret it, mark my words.
Come, Butch! We're leaving!
Stop being such a child, Butch.
Where are you going?! Come back here!
Oh...um. Hello, everyone. Fancy meeting you all here, heh. What may I ask is the special occasion?
The jig is up, Butch! You distract them with your adorable obliviousness, and I'll run!
You ridiculous beast! You had my brother worried half to death!
Did you hear that, Butch?
Who cares about premiums, mutton ears!
There's a second Doomstone somewhere out there in the Grassy Plains!
That Professor Hughes may be the creepiest intellectual I have ever seen.
He was leering at that Doomstone as if he were in love with it or something.
But his weakness may be to our advantage...
Butch, I feared you wouldn't be able to keep up with my train of thought. You have not disappointed me.
Come now, Butch. Let's go get that Doomstone.
Oh, ho! And just who are you again?
If there's nothing you want, please stop watching me.
Now see, Butch. All of your blubbering seems only to have worried Chompy.
The rumors were true, then. A Doomstone really did fall to ground...

Tale of Lunares: Chapter Five

MuSt FiNd tHe doOmStOnE...
Butch! Hold your tongue regarding the origins of my coiffure!
Gingery brain! There's nothing wrong with me!
As for my hairstyle, if you look closely, you'll see that when shaped with my beard, it resembles a cresce—
We aRe jUst MoDeL CiTiZeNs. heRe To PiCk MuShRoOmS...aNd CoLlEcT LitTer...
If you have any mushroom-picking or litter-collecting needs, just call upon Bierre and Putch!
And, of course, now the forest is full of Paladins trampling over everything and getting in the way!
WHo's gEttiNG iN tHe Way?! I meAnT tHeY aRE DoInG a FiNe jOb...
Well, I'm afraid we're very busy right now. No time to chat. Enjoy your stroll through the forest. Good day!
What? Nonsense, Brother. If we walk away, the Doomstone will be up for grabs!
This is our chance to make it big, don't you see?
sEe hER?! WHerE?! pReTtY...VeRy vErY PrEtTy...
Who are you calling creepy, you flying mutt?!
Look, Butch, I know my new obsession may be a bit...demanding. But she's quite easy on the eyes...
Which has absolutely nothing to do with the current situation! My goodness, what is wrong with me?!
You two again!
Well, you two again...minus one. Plus two. Making you now a total of three.
nOtHIng wRoNg heRe JusT FIne... i SwEaR iT!
UNGH!
Hoo...?
SILENCE, BUTCH! They have no need for every bit of information about us.
Um, well...it's not as easy as one might think, see...
Please...just give us a little more time. We live to please. And serve. We serve to please. And live.
I have lost nothing! Except, uh, perhaps valuable time squabbling here!
Whatever you need from us, we got it! Promise!
I agree, Butch.
*Let's just let them think we're helping them, and we'll take off as soon as they leave.*
yEs MuShRooMS. YoUr wIsH iS mY cOmMaNd.
But we secured quite the batch of mushrooms!
Really? But...what if I don't want to be off the hook?
Hunh?! Oh, nothing. Forget it.
mIsTrEsS? wHeRe aRe yOu gOiNg? WhAt iS yOuR NeXt cOmMaNd?
UNGH!
Where are we, Butch? What's happening?
Ugh, my head...
My mind is like a bowl of Carrotty soup. I can't remember anything.
Did I do anything stupid? I remember we were out picking mushrooms...
and we ran into some girl. A pretty girl...but she was kind of weird.
You know what, Butch? You are correct there. And I apologize for anything I don't remember.
From this day forth, I pledge never again to lose my mind over a pretty face!
MABANANA!
My lady, the pleasure was all mine. There is no need for you to thank me!
For you, I would pick every mushroom in the forest and present them to you as a token of my devotion...
Go? Nonsense! Go where? Why would I go when my love is here?
What is that thing?!
Don't be a fool! That monster is likely to gobble us up as a snack!
Us? Uh...we were just lost, y'know, and we stopped here to check out this bush here...
Are we—are we on the ground? Are we gonna fall?
I'll have you know I have a medical condition called... heightorachnaphobia!
Us?! You want us to...do something with the engine?
Now, Butch, you know that as a natural-born leader I could never be anyone's assistant!
Professor Hughes, kindly accept my loyal service! I shall break my back to get this airship flying!
It has long been my dream to serve as a research assistant aboard an ancient ship of legend!
Indeed, in my younger days, I often considered taking up carpentry, sailing, and...assistantship!

Tale of Lunares: Chapter Six

A true natural disaster, such as a Dosh famine in my wallet, would concern me much more than this.
What are you talking about?! This is a butterfly! A very...intelligent and attractive butterfly, that's all.
No matter! My brother is correct. We waste our time here when we could be...doing something else!
Who'd have thought a tiny little bug would make for such heavy conversation?
We live in a nice and peaceful world, butterfly. It's easy to make a living, even without a regular job!
If things get tough, you can always go foraging in the forest or just hang out somewhere.
Things work out in the end. Which is why there's no reason to worry about your doomsday nonsense.
Hrm... Is that supposed to look like that?
The engine...it spoke!
I...yes, I think we do.

Tale of Lunares: Final Chapter

[Player]! We've been looking all over for you!
And, well, Princess, I guess it's OK that you're here as well.
It appears you'll be able to make it just before the next eclipse.
Yes, so gather up everything. [Player], you and Yuelia should make your way to the—
Wait...where's Yuelia?
Did you lose the other butterfly girl?
There is no time for all of this! You must go before the...the hole in the sky, or whatever it is, closes!
Miss Noelia!
What? You know where she is?
Ah, I see.
I feel like I just heard that somewhere recently...
Excuse me? We are not your personal princess slaves, you know?
We worked quite hard on it. I nearly broke a sweat!
Look! The ship is moving!
I shan't say good-bye! We'll meet again—I know it!

Flutter 009 Pierre and Butch

Well, well...so we meet again. I'm not bowing, if that's what you want. But you have our gratitude.
Surely some mushrooms would have sufficed. A bit of overkill, if you ask me.
*GASP* I beg your pardon?! My good butterfly, I believe that you have stolen my credo.
Butch, please. Pull yourself together. There are others present here.
Honestly, Butch. You're embarrassing me and you're embarrassing yourself.
Uh...Butch? ...What was that?
Butch! Are you OK?
WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM? TALK, BUTTERFLY!
Don't you try to pull one over on me! I didn't just fall off the Carrotty truck! You just...sparkled. I saw it!
One has nothing to do with the other.
Are you sure?
Well, I... That's good, Butch. I'm glad you're... coming to, you know, terms with your feelings.
It's a sign of maturity. And your willingness to so openly express yourself is a sign of...weirdness.
But I'm mature enough to let all the world know I can appreciate it all the same!
I must say I am quite disappointed we were not able to capitalize on this Doomstone.
Hardly. That rock terrifies me. It gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Were they able to determine what it actually is?

Flutter 032 The Lunares Airship

Butch! If you've got time to yak, you've got time to...just get over here and help me!
Shut it, Hughes! I'm not doing this to impress you!
If you've got time to stand around and talk, you've got time to...just give me some work, will you?
I would like Leilah to know who to thank when all of this is done!
Right away! And have my next task ready for me by the time I return!
Hello! You're just in time to help me retrieve some items from the village!
Oh, you know, I'm just... I guess I've finally found my calling, that's all!
As soon as I saw her, it was like a shock through my whole body. I've never seen such a beauty!
I can no longer hide it. But Leilah is my calling! I want to shout it from the treetops!
LEILAH IS MY CALLING!
Oh, no! I can't do that. Girls like the strong, silent type. So I don't know if I'll ever talk to her.
Really? Well, I've learned quite a bit since we've been up here, so let me tell you something.
All a man needs in Life is to find that which he truly loves...and never speak...and make some Dosh!

Pierre

My brother and I have always been masters of wrongdoing, but that's all in the past now...mostly.
My brother and I have always been masters of wrongdoing, but that's all in the past now...mostly.
That chump, Butch...BAH! Well, unfortunately, blood is thicker than Barley Juice.
If I never see another Doomstone again, it will be too soon! Or not soon enough...? How does the saying go? Regardless, no more Doomstones, please!
The Napdragon's sleeping like a baby again. I hope this means things are back to normal.
Mount Snowpeak is where Butch found his little pet, Chompy. Fed him a whole batch of mushrooms...
Pirates don't even have to work to make a living. Such lucky ducks! What a Life!
An outlaw does his or her best work at night, when good boys and girls are in bed.
Wizards don't need to rub sticks together to make fire, do they? They just rub their hands together...?
You're always dashing about. One day you're in Al Maajik, the next you're in Port Puerto... Maybe you should chill out a bit and just kick back more. It works for me.
A hard day's work gets the blood flowing! Or, well... at least I think it does.
How could I sleep when the stars are shining so brightly for you and me? How's my romantic suitor impression? Did your heart skip a beat?
I'm just guarding the ship...from thieves, you know... No, really!
I've done no good with my Life! What would I even say to the god on Lunares? ...My apologies?
The world may have been saved, but my heart is beyond help. I've lost my only excuse to see Leilah!
All I can do is get down on my knees and beg my future brother-in-law to let me stay! Do you think Pino will say yes?
If this isn't love...then why does my heart sing so loudly? My heart is like an opera singer in rehearsal!
If this isn't love...then why does my heart sing so loudly? My heart is like an opera singer in rehearsal!
Origin Island's supposed to be a hot tourist destination, isn't it? I'd better go and check it out...
I'm planning on inviting Leilah to Origin Island. Should I specify I mean with me?

Origin Island: Chapter One

Decided to come back down to Reveria with the rest of us, I see.
Well, it was nice seeing you. We're quite busy now. We've got a house to construct. Good day.
AH LA LA LA LA LAAAA!
Yes, I'm just...warming up the old vocal cords. You never know when you'll need to perform an aria.
Enough about us. What are you two up to?
No, not really.
If it's only heard at night, then it's probably caused by something that only comes out at night.
Honestly, I would have thought you'd pick that up.
Oh, really? Well, I'm sure our friends here would be more than happy to be enlightened by your thought.
PLEASE don't say it's a ghost. Thank you.
AHHH LA LA LAAAA LAA LAAA!
Enough! Look for the culprit at night! It's obvious!
No more! There is a love nest to be built! Onward!
