Your Life as a Mercenary has begun! The Mercenary Master, Cervantes, hangs out at the Crown. Hopefully he'll accept you as his pupil without too much trouble...
You got your first greatsword from Cervantes! Now it's time to put it to work. You should talk to Bard, the owner of the Crown, and see if he knows anyone who needs help.
Your first job as a Mercenary: help farmer Giles with some trouble at his farm. Jude is on his way over there. You should head out quickly too—before Cervantes starts rambling again.
You noticed Jude, head in his hands, as soon as you left the Crown. He seems to be worried about something. He may know about the trouble at the farm, so you should talk to him!
You teamed up with Jude outside the Crown, but he doesn't seem to know how to use a greatsword. He may know where to practice, though. Let's go!
You've arrived at the Proving Stone to practice swinging your weapon. If you haven't done so already, select the Novice's Claymore from the Gear menu. Then talk to Miguel.
OK! Let's hit that Proving Stone! If you just keep swinging, even a solid rock like that one should be no match for your blade. Use the stone to practice your fighting technique!
Nice job! You showed that Proving Stone who's boss! But who was that old Plushling? He seemed very experienced... Anyway, let's head to Giles's farm in...South Castele, right?
Nice job! You showed that Proving Stone who's boss! But who was that old Plushling? He seemed very experienced... Anyway, let's head to Giles's farm in...South Castele, right?
You've reached Giles's farm, but it's overrun with Carrottys! Let's slice and dice and deal with that pesky produce! Use what you learned at the Proving Stone. Now get slicin'!
Nice work defeating those Carrottys! Everything should be back to normal at the farm...for now. Time to head back to the Crown with Jude and see what's next.
Seems Carrottys aren't the only things troubling the farmers. A Razorbeak (big game around here) is loose in the field in West Castele! Get over there before the field is ruined!
You've found your opponent, the Razorbeak. It's time to test your mettle. The Razorbeak is a fearsome beast, but with Jude in tow, you should be able to defeat it. To battle!
You defeated the Razorbeak! Great work! The farmlands are peaceful again. Head back to the Crown and report to Cervantes. You might just become his fully fledged pupil!
