Field talk (175 lines)
Ah, have you come for more of my glorious tales?
Well, all right. Just don't go telling everyone.
Back in my youth, I was the one who brought the
great Lord of the Dead to its knees.
Believe it or not, that was when I was but a Fledgling.
The beast and I exchanged blows for 15 long hours.
Neither of us would give an inch, nor could either of
us force the other to give in.
I drew on what little SP I had remaining and went to
let loose with one final Heavy Swing.
Right then, the great Lord of the Dead cried out.
It begged for mercy from my blade, even claiming
that a real man would settle matters with his fists!
But I paid it no heed, and with steely determination
I instead prepared for a Super Shockwave attack.
It was at that moment that the great beast collapsed,
a cloud of sand erupting as it fell, its strength spent. Hmmm. Hmmmmmm... Ah, [Player]!
Perhaps... Perhaps you might be able to help me.
I have been informed that a dinosaur made of naught
but bones has appeared in the Aridian Desert.
I fear it may be the cursed monster of the desert
known simply as the Lord of the Cursed.
The beast was created when a Lord of the Dead,
servant to the Dark Sultan, lost its master.
For years it lay awaiting its next order, but it never
came, and the beast became nothing but bones.
In Al Maajik, it is feared as a symbol of impending
misfortune, but I'm afraid that is a misunderstanding.
In truth, all the beast desires is a friend. Just a friend
to play with. Simple as that.
How do I know, you ask? I know because I am a
friend to the creature.
I used to visit it when I was young, but at my present
age it is rather difficult to manage.
Which is where I'd like you to help. Would you be
willing to play with him for me?
However, while I say it's just playing...the beast is
incredibly strong. Your Life will be on the line...
As such, this is dangerous work. I can't ask anyone
less than a Creator-rank Mercenary such as yourself.
If you're willing to play on those terms, just talk to
me again. Unless...you've already met this beast!
